Big Star for tacos (although you would have a lot more fun going to the original location in Bucktown) Southport corridor has lots of good restaurants Crosby's Kitchen, Dagostinos for good tavern thin crust pizza, Tuco and Blondie, Corridor Brewery and Provisions All of the sports bars around the stadium have good bar food
My god this is the most absurd thing I've read in a long time "Copi is the new name for the fish formerly known as Asian carp; the new name was part of $600,000 rebranding effort by IDNR to reduce negative connotations of the species and to encourage consumption." “Copi is a great name: Short, crisp and easy to say. What diner won’t be intrigued when they read copi tacos or copi burgers on a menu?” Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director Colleen Callahan said in a statement. Couldn't they have a focus group of 3rd graders done this and saved $599,900?
Some bummer primary results. Marie Newman is going to lose. She got fucked w redistricting. Will be forever grateful for her taking out Lipinski tho. Danny Davis is going to be Kina Collins. Davis is a legend, nothing bad to say about him, but his old ass needs to go enjoy retirement imo. Need new energy. Collins is awesome. Hope she runs again.
I'm quite happy with my district's results. All but two of the 23 people I voted for won. Damn water reclamation project...
Voted, donated and volunteered for Kina. She is far and away a better candidate than the dinosaur Danny Davis. She just couldn’t overcome his name ID.
Ate at the swift and sons tavern by Wrigley before the game yesterday. Solid spot. Can't believe how different Wrigleyville is than the last time I was there.
This was great highly recommend Gwen. Great hotel and perfect location. We walked essentially everywhere
Coming up next weekend Thurs-Sun. Is Trivoli Tavern worth trying to get a seat at the bar? Also grabbed reservations at Vig and Smith & Sons as a fall back
I'm in town this weekend. Anyone want to grab food or a drink, I'm free Thursday. Will check OP for recs in general. At least one stop at Pequod's. Likely will be at ChiSox Friday.
I'm coming to town on a bachelor party in a few weeks, and had an interesting turn of events...the guy whose supposedly has been planning it just confessed to having done essentially nothing. The weekend was planned around renting a boat and spending several hours on Saturday on the water. I'm guessing it's too late for that now. I'm going to peruse this thread, but any recommendations for bars/clubs/restaurants for a groups of 12-15 guys would be very appreciated! It looks like Shore Club could be a water adjacent thing to do for some day drinking on Saturday?
Do the Friday night Sox game, take the bachelor down to the bullpen bar in the 3rd inning to do shots, leave when they cut off the booze and go out to bars get seats in the outfield
I'm at the new concert venue at the old Morton Salt Shed. It's a pretty cool venue despite being outside only right now. Hopefully the rain holds off.
Damn. I lost track of this thread and missed this post. Def would have had a beer. Is this why youre a whitesox fan now?
sucks to suck idk, never followed baseball closely and been enjoying it as a complement to soccer. my wife is big on the dodgers but that feels a little too easy.
yeah I've also spent way more time in Chicago than any other major city and had a frat brah in college who was a Sox guy. watched their postseason run to the series with him and had fun. so anyway yeah. next time I'm up there I'll DM you so you don't big dick me.
