It makes me wonder, if this hypothetical were to happen, would Yzerman then go after another FA like Klingsberg? Probably depends on cap space and all of that.
He's still around. He was bugging my friend who runs a draft site grading peoples mock drafts to give him a shout out for finishing top 10 or something on his twitter. Not sure what he's doing though in terms of radio
If we could get Tkachuk without giving up Raymond, Edvinsson or Kasper as that blurb suggests, I don't see how you don't pursue that to the point where you're offering 3 or more first rounders to make it happen. I don't really see the downside there.
That said, I’d be fine trading Bert, Zadina and a top ten protected 2023 first for Tkachuck without an extension in hand just to see if you can convince him over the course of the year to sign long term. I don’t think that’s enough to get him though.
Eh, it never made sense for him to go to OHL after playing in a pro league. Rumors on draft night were he was returning to Rogle and he says on Instagram after that he's returning to Rogle. Looks to me like bad info, but you never know.
Made absolute zero sense to go from a top 4 league in the world in a big role to something in the 20s. Ottawa fan fic
And the wings have shown they like players to play in that league too. Only reason a move to OHl would make sense is if he was struggling to get minutes on Rogle or they wanted him closer for a potential call up. But that wouldn't make sense either because they've shown they don't like moving prospects up and down (see Berggren last year)
Based on what Yzerman has said publicly, I’m going to assume this is our top four: Chiarot (boo) - Seider Maata - Hronek The remaining four spots will be between: Edvinsson (LHD) Osterle (LHD) Hagg (LHD) Lindstrom (RHD) Pysyk (RHD) Walman (LHD) - LTIR
I think we have a lot of bottom pairing defensivemen and he's going to fight it out with Osterle and Walman for a roster spot, depending on Edvinsson making the team. The losers go to GR.
Chiarot and Hronek are perfect for each other. And Seider is so good defensively that it’d allow Edvinsson to play his more open game. It’d still be just 17-18 mins a night for Edvinsson as others would man special teams as he gets more comfortable. Seider would still be at 24-25 mins a night with all his special teams play.
WJC re-do coming up: In: Edvinsson - Sweden Wallinder - Sweden Niederbach - Sweden Viro - Finland Bednar - Czechia Mazur - USA Out: Kasper - Austria ???: Cossa - Canada
Cossa sucks. Start the timer on Vinegar Strokes bust call out and The Banks Wallstedt I told you so rant.
We have 9 guys playing: Edvinsson, Neiderbach, Wallinder (Sweden) Mazur, Savage (USA) Sebrango, Cossa (Canada) Viro (Finland) Bednar (Czech)
I think that's a great deal. If he doesn't pan out that is not much to eat or move on, or if he puts it all together it's a huge discount and still a rfa at end
Pronman ranked his top 170 players under the age of 23. Lots of Wings on the list. #2 - Seider #9 - Raymond #32 - Edvinsson #67 - Kasper #80 - Zadina #96 - Soderblom #122 - Veleno #151 - Berggren #165 - Cossa
He’s been playing great as their 2C. Needs more PP time. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s their 1C after 20 games.
With Camp around the corner, I have been thinking about our most optimal opening night lineup, and this is what I’ve come up with: Perron - Larkin - Raymond Bertuzzi - Copp - Vrana Kubalik - Suter - Zadina Rasmussen - Veleno - Sundqvist Smith Chiarot - Seider Maata - Hronek Edvinsson - Haag Osterle - Lindstrom Husso Ned Perron playing on the top line would allow for Vrana to have two more physical guys on his line that can maintain possession and offer him opportunities to rip the puck. The third line has offensive potential, but if it isn’t working you can move up Ras. The fourth line should provide energy and be defensively responsible. I dread the idea of Chiarot playing 20+ minutes a night, but at this point you have to let him try to play next to Mo because of his contract. I think the rest of the D is perfectly competent, as long as Hronek quits being a total idiot with his decision making.
I think our first line is our normal 1st line of Bert-Larkin-Raymond. Vrana and Zadina played really well together last year so I think they are together on the 2nd line with Copp.
I am sure they keep that first line together, but that top line was not good defensively and Perron can help quite a bit more than Bert without the puck.
www.wingingitinmotown.com/platform/amp/2022/5/26/23018122/filip-zadina-and-jakub-vrana-need-to-be-stapled-together-in-2022-23 There are plenty of numbers to sift through, but the first one that caught my eye was their expected goals for percentage (xGF%) with and without each other. Zadina’s xGF% was 49.33 percent with Vrana on the same line at 5v5. Without him? It decreased significantly to 41.99 percent. And for Vrana, it was the same. Without Zadina, it went down to 40.92 percent. Arguably the biggest number difference is in the regular goals for percentage (GF%). Vrana’s and Zadina’s GF% at 5v5 was 85.71, which is absurd. Now, on the other end of the spectrum, Vrana’s GF% without Zadina was 29.41 percent, and Zadina’s was 31.25.
