Dulles is now also Metro accessible, which puts it 1000 places ahead of BWI. If they built the tram out to the D gates it would be a perfectly fine international hub/is a perfectly fine airport for non-United carriers.
Supposed to land at 7:40 am so that would be absolutely incredible to reroute an hour and a half flight midair for 6-7 hours. But if anyone can do it it’d be southwest. If the departure isn’t straight up cancelled I fully expect the return to be.
Only to get to United’s gates, everyone else is accessible by a new tram. (Technically the United gates are tram-accessible too but it’s a long ass walk). I think you might have to take them at certain times if you’re arriving internationally because that’s how they dump you into the CBP area. And tbh they’re antiquated but it’s maybe five extra minutes.
Delta is running A350-900s with Delta One suites between MSP and Phoenix and some other domestic routes. You can catch them at the same price as a domestic glorified exit row first class seat. Idk where else to put that.
No worse place to fly out of than MCO. Not just for the monorail but it’s full of tired, sunburned families who are sick of spending every waking moment together. Kids are crying, moms are bitching at dads, and the men stare into space looking absolutely defeated.
This one you can park and walk right into that terminal. Next year you can take a train from Miami right into that terminal. https://upgradedpoints.com/news/orlando-international-airport-mco-terminal-c/
Yeah the people make MCO the worst for sure. Never had any issues with the airport itself, its pretty damn easy to get around.
I flew MCO to Heathrow one time, never again. Sun burned exhausted Brits and their crying kids on the way back from Disney
I mean of course they have? That’s not really a strike against them imo it would be unrealistic to think they wouldn’t do this
thats not the point, the point is to make sure the ire is drawn at Southwest rather than Pete. Consumers are pissed they dont have alternatives, lets provide the arithmetic on the blame game.
An actual high speed rail from Houston to Dallas would be the actual titties but will never happen while I’m alive
its going to take a lot of private-public partnerships; but these recent events are being used (like the tweet you reacted to) to woo public opinion away from the teet of monopolistic airlines. just need to do a brightline but not in chud states like florida or texas
Yeah, I'm considering driving because I'm insane. But really the only reason is to avoid the monorail and have a car while I'm there for a week.
Saw this on a pilots forum https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/safety/141019-kmgm-accident-12-31-a.html
Update: my return was cancelled. They delayed it to 1 AM and 3:30 AM from 9 PM before cancelling it. Made it all the way to the Burbank airport before they did that. Ended up staying at a Courtyard by the Staples Center and had my postgame victory meal at Yard House because there was literally nothing else open. Flew back this morning with no issue.
I live here and conquer this by simply always having dope ass noise cancelling headphones at all fucking times + precheck + clear = MCO is way easier I fly in and out of here prob 13-15x/yr
It's fucking horrible, and someone had to clean the plane off and do.... whatever with whatever was left of the guy.
Has Southwest slowly gone to shit over the years? I’ve honestly never had a problem with them besides noticing the highest seat order I could get would be in the mid Bs without paying extra
Lol I’m finally flying back home and the plane I’m supposed to be on is coming in from Santa Ana, ca. it just had it’s status on flight aware changed from “delayed” (by 90 minutes) to “scheduled”. I’m never getting home Southwest, in case there was any confusion
Just means Ops hasn't provided an update. Give them time to make a new departure time up off the top of their heads.
they have been cutting corners on aircraft/parts/maintenance for as long as I have had a modicum of knowledge with aviation law. Its part of their business model.
One would think so. But now those passengers have been sitting on the runway for an hour edit: 30 minutes. I all in know is my takeoff keeps getting pushed back but we are en route from CA!!
There was a flight that was supposed to take off 90 minutes after mine. It was also delayed. It’s at the gate next to us. It’s taking off now and will land an hour before us.
