I don’t know if the crew would be able to pull off Vecna without WOTC sign-off. And who knows what WOTC will want by then.
Can’t remember in s1 I’d they did “vecna” or “the whispered one”. If they don’t name him Vecna and change his appearance they’ll be fine
good point they could easily change the character and keep the story exactly the same. There wasn’t a ton of irreplaceable lore
If they are just announcing it now, it'll still take a couple years probably to make it and come out, right? That timeline makes sense
New IP, so unlike a new season, it will take longer to start, I would bet LOVM S3 next year or two, M9 s1 in 2025
From a purely D&D perspective I agree. But VM always felt like it would be better as a spectacle like a TV show.
while vm is a good story, they aren't particularly interesting characters. you can tell it was the first for 5/7 of them. percy and keyleth have real depth but the others not so much. m9 are very different. the show will be very different, too.
the chroma conclave arc was probably the best thing CR has done but the character and overall story of M9 tops VM and BH thus far
I enjoyed Vox Machina way more. Took me a while to finally get into Mighty Nein and absolutely baffled by the fanbases obsession with Molly
First time most of the fan base saw entertainment they loved have a Lbgtq+ representation played by one of the actors.
I think there is a sentiment that in VM he didn’t “follow through”. That’s about as good as I can no for no spoilers in this thread
same. Have a suspicious its because it was most people's jumping off point at Ep1 so they felt more invested in it. Jester is S tier and the rest are meh
couldn’t disagree more. I think veth is a great character. I think Caleb is the deepest and most complex character is any of the campaigns, ford is a step down from grog but was sort of the glue that held the campaign together and I think beau is a really underrated character it just took marisha about 30 or so episodes to flesh her out.
legends of vox machina is based on critical role campaign 1. the "podcast" had 120ish episodes. the anime has season 1 and part of season 2. season 3 was confirmed. season 2 of the anime is expected to end around episode 65 of the "podcast". mighty nein, the anime critical role just announced, will be based on their campaign 2. the "podcast" for it has 130ish episodes. the current critical role campaign is still ongoing and will inevitably have an anime too.
mighty nein is same world, different continent, different characters but some overlapping ancillary characters
c1 starts place in the year 810 c2 starts in 835 c3 starts in 843 the main party changes each time but it's the same voice actors. not much crossover between 1 and 2 because mercer didn't want to use c1 as a crutch. but now that they're an established property c3 is doing just enough crossover for the fanservice but not enough to ruin the experience.
Not to be the bitch of the thread but the other DnD stuff, character development, future plots/quests, etc….can’t that discussion take place in the podcast thread? Like the ASOIAF threads for book readers and non book readers.
Fuck. So season 2 is dropping episodes weekly? I’m on episode 9 of season 1 but wanted to binge through everything so may pump the breaks till they’re all out
