Yea, the better teams don't matter here. Duke v. UNC is always going to get the prime time slot. Same way UM v. FSU gets prime time when both teams are 6 and 6

 

That plus most time slots and channel placements are done before the season begins, and they don't change regardless of how the teams are playing.

It's how you get games in the Big 12 that are matchups between two top 15 teams like Kansas-Iowa St., but the games are relegated to ESPN+.
