I'm using Trout, Tucker, and Marte in the OF right now. Trout and Tucker are gold defenders and I get a ton of false steps on fly balls. Do those get way less with diamond defense? Does raction matter a ton this year? Looks like Trout only has 72 reaction so maybe that's it?
Well I'll be damned, that's sweet. So speed isn't the end all be all for defenders this year? It's not like it happens a ton but there's been a few balls I couldn't get to bc of that false step. Definitely something to pay attention to. Was thinking about Julio in RF instead of Tucker but Julio is only 76 too. Tucker is 74.
I just sold Tucker last night for Julio. His overall speed will make up for that 76 reaction. Tucker smacks but I hate hitting lefty vs lefty.
The Show Zone is pretty cool. This is my up to date progress. I'd have to pay to get Set 1 progress and I'm not doing that.
Their system is dumb though. It says $3.75 a month but the only way to pay is $45 for a year. I'd probably give them $10 for a few months but I'm not wasting $45 on a site I'll check 2-3 times a month.
Whoa the show zone makes flipping dumb easy. I may actually flip cards now during the day in the office. Put 20 buy orders in, work for 30 minutes, put 20 sell orders in.
Just know that you can lose your ass on that in 30 minute increments. IMO the most important column is transactions per minute, or rarity. More rare the slower they move. Some of those diamonds you can be sitting on for days or you spend hours adjusting in order to be the low order. Find stuff that moves quickly, takes way less time.
Early game margins blow. It’s really a volume game, usually around ASB and when content drops you can start really making some serious profit.
I wonder if Jeter is included in this total? It says 3.8m but does that include the cost to get Jeter aka the live series too? Jeter, Sosa, and McGwire are set 1 cards so I assume ys? I want to know where that # comes from.
TLAU what's the best way to do TA? Not sure I'm ready to do it yet but getting close. Looks like the moments are 30k for 30 moments? So 5k per division. Shodown is 15k? Conquest is 25k? And missions are only 20k total? Should I just skip those and do a million mini seasons? Each mini season is 40k right? So 4 mini season is a division? Is that right? How long does a mini season take?
Mini seasons seems to be the best way, you don't have to play every game, just make sure you make the playoffs at the end.
I saw someone say just play home games and quit out of road games? I assume you can play at blank canvas? I'll still do missions as I unlock cards and will get some of the repeatable ones for 2500 xp for a single team but the moments and co quest don't seem worth it?
Just played a guy with this lineup and using his cap pitcher He was 20-41. He quit in the 7th when i went up 4-1.
Did the conquest and showdown first so that you get ~4 players from each division to do the PXP missions with in mini seasons at blank canvas. I normally pick as many bats as possible since Pitcher 600PXP takes longer and you can get 200 PXP for batters in 1-2 games. I went with pitchers mostly for captains especially if there's one with 12Ks as their stat mission. The closers with 3 saves are easy because you can walk people in the last inning to setup a save situation and bring them in with one out. Batters the 5 XBH ones are super easy. Should have a steady flow of completing these and getting more mission guys throughout the season. When you get to the final ~4 games of the season check the standings you may need to win 15-16 games to make playoffs. once you have the vouchers look first for divisions that you're close to getting more captains/choose 2 from and get those if you only need 1-2 vouchers for them and can pref get more than 1 pack/player. If that situation doesn't exist then personally I would throw vouchers into the AL East and NL/AL Central. Just my opinion but the teams in those divisions have the weakest players available for TA Mini-Season Rosters to complete the Team PXP 2500 missions. You're gonna have to do several of those to complete them. And the Phillies, Astros, Mariners, Padres, and Giants have the best TA qualified bats IMO to get team PXP. I think I've completed Phillies and Astros 2500 mission ~8 times each... ~3 times each per mini season using this lineup: LS Turner, Captain Bryce, Captain Realmuto, Veteran Utley, Charisma Pena, LS Yordan, LS Kyle Tucker and 97 Biggio. Find 1-2 teams with the pitching staffs (pref in other divisions) that you can use exclusively too. You can easily get 250-400 PXP for each batting team per game and ~300 for whichever team you pitch with. Doing that gets you ~15K (4 vouchers worth) for each of those 3 divisions and you can use your vouchers in the other three. I only did missions when I was 1-2K away from a captain/pick2/charisma I haven't even done all of them yet. And I stopped each division at the next to last charisma card because it's like 20K just for the final Set 1 card in each division and that's not worth it.
You could def do one regions conquest + showdown and use those 2 divisions players to do the other two's conquest maps, but I did all 3 of those with WBC players when I was doing that program
How long does it take to play a mini season? Am I right in thinking you need to play 23 mini seasons to finish TA if you don't do anything else? 150k x 6 divisions = 900k Mini season = 40k So that's 22.5 mini seasons, or 22 and like a showdown.
It's definitely shorter because you will be completing missions and accruing PXP for just playing with dudes from each division. Stack your team like he said, especially if there is one you want to knock out for a specific player.
Yea worth noting that since you're playing almost all home games you only really play 2.5 innings per game
also your opponent won’t pause or spam R2 (another quality of life improvement introduced this year!)
So if you get up 2-0 and then bunt out, you can do a game in what, 10 minutes? So like 4 hours for a mini season? Something like that? I've never played one.
Did they make a change with R2? I've had a few times where I would hit R2 with a new pitcher and then forget what I looked at so I do it again and it won't pop up. Do you only get one R2 per pitch?
yes, although if you’re collecting PXP you’re going to want to keep swinging away. But 4 hours is a good estimate.
Not only that I'm almost up to like 1M XP for program 1. Mini seasons got me through Season 1 XP path in like 3 days. Not a bad collection bonus getting some set 1 cards in the end-game pick a pack deal or $7500 stubs. I never did the bunt out deal I always played to max out stats (although sometimes you just face a pitcher that's quirky and I'd win some games 1-0 or 2-0) but I think last mini season the little "time spent" counter at the bottom said 5 hours and change
I have not had much time to play this year yet, but the only reason it would not pay is if it's like last year. Say you needed 2000 PXP on a repeatable goal. Last year if you had 1990 going into a game, once you got the ten it would allow you to reach the goal, but anything extra was irrelevant. Didn't matter if you earned 15 PXP or 150, it always stopped and then started at zero next game. Is it still like that this year?
You will get 270k of those 900k XP along the way by completing the missions, and will get more by accruing 2500 PXP per team.
Finished AL East. All but AL C I stopped at the next to last Charisma card bc 20K XP for one more set 1 card isn't worth it. AL W I think I've got 1 captain and 2 charisma cards left
Right, so dbl, if you keep an eye on that, in those situations you may want to bunt out. Typically I'd still be stacking my lineups to get my mission players max ABs though.
ngl I had the excel sheet for TAs open on my desktop next to me while playing mini seasons most of the time. just to keep up with which pitchers to use, which bats still needed PXP and which teams were the closest to 2500pxp to sub in bats when I didn't have 9 missions guys. And at some point you won't have any missions guys just bc the middle-late part there are gaps where you don't get any. Either stack your team with players from 2-3 teams or just put in players you rake with
It's just hard bc I have like 2 to 2.5 hours at night from the time my daughter and wife go to bed to when I need to get ready for bed and I much prefer playing 2-3 ranked games than just playing against the cpu over and over and over. Probably going to just have to do it though. I'll pay someone to do it. :/
My wife has found my lists many times for this exact same thing. I always wondered what she was thinking when she looked at them. I’m also the type of person who writes in code often, occasionally the code is so good I can’t even break it.
I'm in the same boat. Those team affinities are just too much of a grind. My team is mostly 99s so were set for ranked matches. I prefer to not lock in a few of my 99 set 1 players. Plan on selling some of them for the better season 2 players when they come out.
The other thing is even finishing TA and finishing set 1, you loose those guys in like 6 weeks. I'd love to have Predo, Ruth, and Chipper, but just not worth he grind for me for that short period. But then I'm going to lose basically my whole team I have now in 6 weeks anyways. When set 2 comes out, I'll move away from set 1 and into set 2 so I'll use them through set 2 and 3. I'm much more tempted to finish the live series than TA bc I can keep live series rewards in my lineup all year. Jeter and Sosa would be in my lineup the rest of the game.
