I unfortunately have to avoid the score and watch the replay later. Please post for the lads in my absence.
Notts missed a penalty to win it because the guy tried a slow chip and it hit the top bar It felt so deflating at the time
Good female friend of mine met an English guy and moved over there to live with him. Saw them this weekend back in the US to visit and they live in his hometown, which is Ipswich. He's had season tickets for a long time and couldn't stop talking about how awesome it was to get promoted to Championship and the long 20 year wait to get back there. So now I have a Championship team to follow next season. Should be fun.
Ipswich is cool but they were only in League One for like four seasons. The 20 yr wait would presumably be for the Prem
they also got new owners last season who pumped in a shitload of money and have like 20 new players. They just bought their way out of league one.
I guess if you’re cool with losing like 4-6m lbs + more with promotion bonuses. Getting to the champ usually only brings 5-6m more per year in TV money.
Eh, but getting the community behind the team and getting more invested can be a big monetary boost over the long term.
A lot of the ownership group overlaps with Phoenix Rising. Fun fact. Maybe we’ll get a friendly or something out of it.
Always love that we can count on GK as the football league moral compass on who gets promoted the right and wrong way.
I don’t think spending money is the wrong way unless they made up fake advertisers, income, and paid people off the books in order to gain a competitive edge. Gallant Knight may disagree though
Bradford Carlisle League two semi is on. It will lead nicely into the sixers crushing my spirit later this afternoon.
Most of the owners don’t have infinite money and there are clubs in danger of going bust all over the country.
up the tractor boys. got some pod recommendations if you’re keen, and the shirts are much cheaper than big 6 clubs.
