This show could be so much better spend and episode or two on the trades/thinking that goes into the changing allocation numbers among everyone or just show Taylor doing something with a YouTube dude and give no context to anything else so lazy
I think that just wants something out of the show that it's not. It's not that it's lazy, that isn't the nature of the show.
Still love the music. Don’t mind Prince as the replacement to Ax. The whole Olympic thing does nothing for me though. Also, need more Wags being Wags. He and Taylor are just afterthoughts.
Prince grew on me, but he’s still not great. Wasn’t a fan of Wags and Wendy having seemingly reduced and less impactful roles, but that makes sense I guess. Olympics was a pretty terrible storyline. Wags suggesting they just off Rian on the spot was absolutely hilarious. Such a different show with prince’s humanitarian greater good bullshit cover vs Axe just dripping in the vileness of it all.
As Paramount+ merges with Showtime, the company also recently announced that up to four new “Billions” spinoff series are in the works. That includes “Billions: Miami” as a new installment set in the world of private aviation; “Billions: London,” set in the world of U.K. finance; “Millions,” featuring diverse, 30-something, financial mogul wannabes in Manhattan; and “Trillions,” based on fictional stories of the richest people in the world.
Someone can let the thread know if they can recover from the dumpster fire that was last season. I think I stopped watching after ep 2.
If Bobby is back for a statistically significant part of the season, then I am back. But if he's back for an episode or two then I'm probably still done. I got to maybe to episode three of season six and gave up.
alright, time to see how they bring this in for a landing, bad or good (probably some of both.) surprised they dropped all 12 episodes at once, have always done weekly before.
Nope, I'm dumb. When I was re-adding Paramount+ it took me to Season 1 and I closed it up without looking closely because I signed up at work and just intended to go back to it when I got home to my TV.
total table setter episode, but forcing a gang gets back together thing. I'm open to the premises they laid but gonna need more, and better.
thought last week's was a weak caricature of the first 4 seasons, but really liked the Grigor Andalov storylines tonight and the stuff with Chuck and Sr.
Yep, good stuff there. Sadly, they have been setting up this season for everyone to oppose Trump / Hitler wannabe Michael Prince in lockstep. These people have never agreed on anything before, but somehow they are convinced (not sure how exactly) that purported megalomaniac Michael Prince will bring about the end of civilization as they know it unless they derail him from coming into power by any means necessary. The scenes where the gang conspires are lazy and stupid while the audience is supposed to blindly accept that MP is pure evil with only the scantest of evidence. It's quite a leap being demanded of the audience, unless they introduce a plethora of new evidence to support their premise in subsequent episodes. *this is my opinion as i am speculating here* ...
I'm not sure I quite see the Trump/Hitler corollary other than the existential threat to democracy stuff. While I agree that hastily making him into that existential threat is a problem (they only got one more season so it was always going to feel rushed, they problem wanted more time to flush that out), I don't have a problem with a bunch of people who usually disagree (but sometimes agree separately) uniting behind the idea of stopping an existential threat. So mostly agree with you but ok with the sell on the show.
Well, that's kind of my point. There is scant evidence that he is an existential threat, yet these people are all convinced of it. That's contrived. There was a comment in the most recent episode about them giving lip service to MP, which was tantamount to supporting the third Reich. And that has not been the first Hitler reference ...
today's episode was great. really getting back to the type of writing that made me love seasons 1-4. good family stuff, not too over the top, smart financial/business stuff but also make you see some emotion from characters. finally showing Prince's harmful instincts rather than just talking about them.
Good synopsis. Very good episode. And yes, it's about time they show prince acting in the way that has them all scared to death ...
