Went to the RTJ3 show last night. Those dudes put on a hell of a show. Tempted to go back tonight for RTJ4.
That damn Westside Gunn medallion with the kid in it looks just like me and it freaks me out every time I see it.
No clue what these tags mean but if 5% of these people end up on the album my word https://www.instagram.com/reel/CywEF_oPunw/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I can listen to this man rap about snack foods in a maysville gas station idgaf he’s a god
I’m not a box set guy but this one sounds tempting. Comes with a deck of Wu-Tang trading cards among other things
Midnight Marauders is on my Mt Rushmore. My kid listens to all the young dudes(NLE his fav) and I played it for him recently on a long drive. He loved it and couldn't believe how old it was. Holds up so good.
when I don’t know what to do or what to listen to this is usually my first choice so I can get a play through album and get my mind going
the soundtrack to my 11th and 12th years on earth creepin on a come up a year later and those three were in heavy rotation for about 5 years
Was talking to someone about this this week. I got into hip hop in the late 80s. By 6th grade we were getting caught in the back of the bus on the way to DC listening to As Nasty As They Wanna Be. That's almost 35 years ago and hip hop is still the dominant genre. It wasn't like that for my parents. They felt old in part bc their music, the rock n roll of the 70s, was a completely different genre that what I liked. Only old people and hippies listened to that by the mid 90s when i was in hs. We're so lucky that our music is still relevant with the youth. Sure they listen to new artists but our playlists is filled with music they call goats. I'm still old af but I don't feel old and out of touch in part bc of the music.
We had the Walkman with the headphones with the foam on them. Each earphone would pop out so like 3 people could put their heads around it to listen. Teacher came back, took it, and went right back up front and started listening to it.
Haha, same bro. Cassette Walkman, 6th grade, bus trip to DC. Cassette Walkman was wild because when the batteries started to die the music would get imperceptibly slower. Eventually you would know for sure but for a little while it’d be like is this slowing down?
