a King in command of 200 ships, reaving & raping throughout westeros, nah fuck it more mereenese bullshit.
Reserving my rage over the changes to Jaime's story, because he and Bronn fucking their way through Dorne is an exciting prospect.
wonder if any watchers will be able to put Jon's demise together soon. it's spelled out pretty loudly already since the show has proven that Starks don't get to be winners except kinda Arya. probably the last major book shocker the show is gonna toss out before putting everyone on equal ground with regards to spoilers. next week should be pretty important. think we get High Sparrow finally(Cersei's walk is gonna be like ep 10 at this rate), Sand Snakes(maybe?), inside the House of Black and White, and maybe block fetching. tons of character development.
So the raven's message about Littlefinger's marriage proposal is pretty much a done deal now for Sansa now right? Also, I kind of take it that Jaime just get captured in Dorne by somebody else now or just ends up doing what ever after the Drone adventure that he would have done after LSH.
Yeah, but I doubt that LSH makes an appearance. Probably just gets captured by Thoros and them and put in the same scenario minus zombie Cat. They could just keep Beric alive and have him and Thoros fill in for the LSH story arch.
3 things that REALLY pissed me off: 1. Why the fuck would Littlefinger take Sansa out in public? And to a bar of all places?! 2. That Stannis proposal to Jon Snow was so limp. I can't believe HBO butchered that. They made it seem like some minuscule offer while giving Greyscale twerp & annoying wildling Gilly a whole lotta screen time and useless dialogue. 3. "Everyone deserves a fair trial!" -Dany : 5 mins later : "Chop his head off w/o a trial!" - Dany Other shit is the inconsistencies popping up all over: • Dorne/Ellaria calling to hurt Myrcella after vividly stating last season that Dorne is not a place where children are harmed. • Did the Kingsguard knight, presumably Oakheart, sent w Myrcella disappear? • What did Arya do to earn entry to the house of black & white? Kill a pigeon? Threaten some alley kids? • LOL at the theatrical WOW factor they tried to make having that Dornish message re-boxed for Jaime to open. *** anyone else hope that Drogon was going to be Quaithe?
I get that this is the book thread and this is the place for us to talk about inconsistencies, but at this point if you're expecting the show to mirror the book, you're going to have a bad time. It's just not doable, especially as we get into AFFC, which is primarily just characters wandering around thinking to themselves. It's just not doable on TV - especially when even the more in-depth storylines are given, at most, 15 minutes per show. I'm trying to disconnect myself from the books and enjoy the show as something completely separate. I would have been so pumped about Jamie/Bronn last night if I had not made myself a bookfag. Really trying to make myself stop comparing to the books at this point. What I am interested in is things that might pop up in the show that give away what is going to happen in future books. I think we're close to that now with both Arya and Sansa.
The inconsistencies I'm talking about are a product of HBO's and D&D's shitty work. It has nothing to do with the books. The show has gotten a lot of plot-holes & flaws recently - and that's looking at it from the show alone.
1 - Very few people know what Sansa even looks like. Or Littlefinger. Remember the guy that called Ned 'your Grace'? Most common folks have no clue who they are. Pod happened to be Sansa's husbands squire and Brienne obviously knew what she looked like. 2 - IDK I thought it was in line with who Stannis is. Blunt and to the point. Do think they could've shown Jon wrestling with the decision a bit 3 - the guy admitted to Shitty AMC Show. What trial would you have liked to see? Don't think they had seperate sentencing hearings back in the day Dorne: Guessing it wasn't Doran that sent the threat Arya: They were watching her and saw that she was tough.
who was the guy Myrcella was walking with and obviously liked? wonder if they use Quentyn there or just create someone else. makes sense to give her a love interest, especially if they're going to play out the story with her siding with the Dornish.
Yeah but I did laugh when Sam says, "Did you know that the youngest Lord Commander ever was somebody Stark when he was 10 years old blah blah" and Gilly responds with "I know 'S'"
I think Cersei's walk, Jon Snow dyng, Arya killing Meryn Trant(instead of a Swyft), and Daenarys saved by Drogon are the all extremely likely right now Can't really think of any other major plotlines that should go as planned. Sansa, Jamie, Brienne, and Tyrion's are in wtf mode now
Dany is just so hilariously retarded... I really look forward to Clarke's fully clothed acting for the next six seasons in Mereen.
I feel like Jon Snow may not be injured/dead in the show at all. If he does, I can see them holding off until next season.
if they dont put that in this season, i feel the season lacks a defining moment and lost out on an opportunity to make even more people read the books imo if they cut it out all together :fuckyocouch:
I wasn't a fan of it happening in the books. Never been a fan of zombies, and not a fan of Jon being deader than fried chicken. All things considered, I would be fine with bypassing that point. If he needs out of his vow, it can be because Jon Snow made the vow, not Jon Targaryen. Once he finds out he's Jon Targaryen, he can do what he wants.
My guess: Episode 9 they kill him, since that seems to be when big things happen every season. I, for one, think they are doing a job with their adaptation so far. Also ftr I bet the show version just makes him critically injured, not dead, and Mel does some voodoo shit to make him heal.
he would be Jon Blackfyre correct? or would he still be Jon Snow b/c the Targaryen's dont have a bastard name
the fact that three members of the Kingsguard were at the tower while a war was going on makes me think Rhaegar married Lyanna at some point. not sure how it would be proven though.
With a gun to my head and I had to make a succinct prediction, it would be that Howland Reed visits the Wall to pay respect to Jon Snow, tells people who he was and what happened, and then Melisandre does her thing
something in Lyanna's tomb or Howland Reed Either way, I don't think it will matter if Jon is legitimate or not.
Do you guys think Elaria takes Darkstar's place in the wounding of myrcella? She seemed pretty insistent on doing something to her. Also jorge and I were talking that when Elaria storms away and Areo Hotah looks at Doran and rubs his finger along that blade it reminded us of this from the waterboy
There are some great theories about Howland Reed. Spoiler http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/104527-howland-reed-high-septon/
He saw lots of stuff in his dreams that a weirwood wouldn't have been able to see... ...but a raven very well could have.
I love that one. Really pissed I saw it a little bit back. I would have loved to have that hit me while reading or something. That character is so damn mysterious & George said he's coming back.
this is basically the show thread now. minus knowing Job gets stabbed and Cersei gets naked we're all clueless right now. kinda fun, actually.
At this point, I would feel comfortable lumping any one of us in with the illterates who don't even know basic character names.
