If you like craft beer, go to Good Beer on 9th St. btw 1st and A, Proletariat on St. Marks btw 1st and A, or Barcade on St. Marks btw 2nd and 3rd.

I'm not a huge craft beer drinker but I'm willing to expand my horizons. Mainly just looking for fun places to drink and people watch.

Signed my lease earlier today, I ended up finding a spot in park slope with a backyard for my dog that was reasonably priced. Went to a party on the Intrepid yesterday that was pretty awesome. Yall been to il buco alimentari? Heading there in a bit

Ensure that you get the short rib, it's one of the best things I've eaten in the city and I've lived here 8 years.

As a tourist I kinda feel like I have to go get two beers from there before moving on.

Plus no one has told me what other bars to go to that I can get to easily damnit.

There are a bunch of places in that area with outdoor seating if you want to people watch. 13th Step, Penny Farthing, Linen Hall next door to Penny. I'm probably forgetting some my NYC bros can chime in with.

It gets so loaded with starry-eyed floozy interns in the summer. I might finally be too old to prey there, but it was good eatin for my first several summers out here

I did it myself, but already called the handyman to come take a look. I think I need to have someone install a bracket on the outside.

Depends on the size. If it's just a small bedroom unit, just closing the window on it and screwing it into the window is fine. If it's a bigger unit (don't ask me to quantify small or big...my bedroom unit was about the smallest you could buy), then you need an outside bracket.

But yeah, I was on the 6th floor and afraid of fucking it up and dropping it the first summer, so I hired a guy off of Craigslist who came in and did it in 20 minutes for $40. Though I gave him $50 because he came within the hour (gay joke here)

Ok guys so how should i get from Times Square to PJ Clarke's (I'm assuming the one on 3rd?). I'm not opposed to taxi, or train or whatever. Just whichever is easiest and fastest.

Then from there to McSorley's and the rest of the bars I should go to Sat night.

E train from Times Square to PJ Clarke's - get off at 53rd / 3rd, it's only a few blocks away. 6 train at 51st/Lex will get you downtown from PJ Clarke's to McSorley's - get off at Astor Place. If you want to hit up B Bar, it's 3 blocks from McSorley's.

Need some brainstorming for a date spot on Wednesday somewhere between Houston and 34th. Met on Hinge so we just did drinks on date one. Looking for something cool, nothing overly romantic, but outside is ideal. She's a vegetarian so it would be nice to have some decent veggie dishes. Not really gunning to have a full on dinner but getting some bites would be best.

    What y'all got?

I do logistics/materials and all your basic office stuff.. payroll, some HR stuff, billing, cost reports, all your MS office skills. Also have about 3 years sales experience
I want to do anything that has semi decent pay and is freaking full time instead of contract stuff
I wouldn't have to defend myself as me and the orangutan would be cool and probably get some beers..

Wasn't directed to me but i felt like answering anyways.

Been in sports journalism for 7 years, but have overall experience with community management, social media producing and copy writing.
Also have worked as a sommelier and have begun studying for official certifications for that. Either one of these areas, or anything else honestly, would be up my alley.

I most certainly would let him kick my ass for a good minute or two because that's on my bucket list.

    No these are subway trains.

    http://web.mta.info/maps/submap.html

Google Maps always gives accurate directions (you can enter your starting location and destination and select the train icon - it will give you the best option via subway/bus). I can pretty much tell you how to get anywhere in the city via subway but I still use it all the time.

I find Google Maps to be more reliable than HopStop, though I haven't used HopStop in a while. Do they take planned work into account? Living on the L train that's important for me.

Yuca bar on 7th St and Ave A was a staple when I lived in the East Village. Fantastic sangria, food is great, outdoor seating on 7th. A bit fancier dinner options: Tree Bistro (on 1st Ave) has an outdoor garden or the Mermaid Inn (it's a seafood place so IDK about their veg options) has outdoor seating on 2nd Ave.

Other neighborhoods: Almond on E 22nd St, and though it's just out of your range (on 35th St) I like the Liberty - though their outdoor space is limited they have huge doors that open so if you sit in the front you'll be close to outside.

Mary Lee The Great White Shark Is Now Off The Coast Of Long Island

Mary Lee is a gentle, somewhat simple name: Most Mary Lees are content to while away the languid summer days sipping sweet tea and braiding the other Mary Lees' hair on the porch swing. The onecurrently bobbing off the coast of Long Island, however, is not a nice Southern girl looking for a strapping gentleman with a barrel chest and a clean shirt to whisk her off to a better life out West. This Mary Lee is a 16-foot-long, 3,500 pound murder machine, with 300 teeth and a lust for the blood of your children.*

The Internet is supremely excited about Mary Lee, but will it be so excited knowing that she's currently just off the coast of Jones Beach? (Is she there to see Phish? Har.) [Editor's note: Phish's only New York date this summer is upstate, in Watkins Glen.] And that if she continues her trajectory, will she swim right up the East River, crawl out onto the ferry landing using her horse legs, trot into our bedrooms and slaughter us while we sleep?

You can follow Mary Lee on Twitter (although you probably do already, bitch has almost 35,000 followers) and watch her progress toward your bedroom here. Don't let the cute orange dot fool you—she actually looks like this:

    (Elsa Hoffmann/Shutterstock)

*Any shade thrown is born only of terror of encountering one of Mary Lees in the water. Great Whites are magnificent creatures, and moreover, their population is threatened by sexually insecure men who hunt them for sport. Let's enjoy tracking her progress, and for God's sake, keep her out of the Gowanus.
