pretty good piece here: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/write...ng-signals-start-of-titanic-change-for-titans
I don't know if this was true or just a shitty hot take, but some dude on the radio was saying the ownership didn't care because nashville's such an easy and nice destination that opposing fans buy up so many tickets they have no interest in improving the team.
The owners are getting paid so they don't care to put a competitive team on the field. They just sit in Houston and count their money without a care in the world about what's happening in Middle TN
I think they have no interest to improve the team because, even as a shitty nfl team, they are still making a shit ton of money off of the revenue sharing and tv deals in the nfl. I have noticed that we always have a ton of visiting fans, but I dont know if i would attribute that to being a reason our owners are shit.
400 days without a home win Hunter done for year with a fractured ankle. So in 3 NFL seasons he has 68 receptions for 1,116 yards and 8 TDs. Glad we traded up for him
We need someone who can either 1. block for Mariota or 2. can get open for Mariota* *I would also be happy with someone who can play defense for Mariota or a GM who can pick decent players to play with Mariota
I think our D is fine right now. 95% of our problems are on offense. We have no legit WR threat. We have shit for a line. Andrews is playing ok and I think Cobb will be decent for us.
Unfortunately Im not sure if there is someone in the draft that another team would be willing to trade up for, meaning we would probably have to draft someone a little higher than where they would normally go.
Lol so the Jets had 10 first downs before we had one? It seems the defense has absolutely fallen apart since like week 5 I'm not sold on a quarterback who can't complete passes down the field with any consistency Still looking for consecutive wins for the first time since late 2013
In last six games opposing offenses are converting on third downs 51.9% of the time Lol that is outrageously bad Everyone on the staff should be fired including old man Lebeau
So by season's end Mariota will have missed 25% of the season with injuries Doesn't complete passes down the field at a high rate, gets sacked and fumbles way too much and can't stay healthy Fucking sweet cornerstone to build a franchise around....
dude. he is a rookie. i am not even sure why i am in this thread. remember vince young's rookie success? look how that turned out for him.
Quarterbacks don't magically develop the ability to throw deep passes in the NFL. It's a skill Mariota lacks and one that is critical to the success of QBs in the league I'm glad you mentioned VY because he was a guy we won a decent amount with by relying on smoke and mirrors. With Mariota lacking the ability to throw downfield you're going to see us rely on more smoke and mirrors down the road. Some more rookie wins would have been nice, given that his Titans comparison did much more as a rookie The dink and dunk doesn't work in today's NFL
I like Mariota but he definitely has a few flaws. His deep ball is whack and he doesn't have the greatest pocket awareness. The latter will come in time imo but I don't know about the former
Tunsil or Stanley if we stick with 1. DGB looked better towards the end of the year but we need to get some offensive weapons
We need defensive players also. We have Weeden look great and Freeman and Lidley look pretty good especially for guys that were out of the league.
We don't even know who our coach/GM will be come draft time. There's a really good chance we fuck up this opportunity to pick the best player
Hopefully one of the QBs will trend upward before the draft and we can get a small fortune for the first pick. What are our biggest needs? OT, CB, DE?
