Thanks for the run last night, that was a blast. Except for all of the jumping, dying, dying some more, instakill traps, and the earful o caught from my wife for coming to bed at 12:30am… Other than that, very helpful knowing how to be utilizing my time in game to keep progressing.
Couldn’t even tell you what the instance was called, but it resulted in the homing rocket launcher gjòlfjördr or whatever.
Oh must have been the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. That's a fun encounter. Really good hand cannon comes from that as well called Eyasluna.
Nice. Love mine. I used that a lot when it first came out. Still do when I want to run stasis. It's a lot of fun with my Veritys Brow/ glacier nade build.
Oh man love me some Grasp. Probably my favorite dungeon. Did you let all the trolly stuff get him or warn him?
Always fun taking someone through for the first time. "Pull this switch" "you didn't it right. Try again"
I took two friends through it about 2 months ago and let them find out stuff the hard way. That dungeon was built for trolling buds.
BrickTamland Beyond Light and Shadowkeep DLC's both on sale in the Steam Summer sale for half off, but I would recommend the Legacy Collection for $24 that has Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and the Forsaken pack that will give you a choice of 3 free Forsaken exotics.
what dlc did you buy? you started with base game right -- i'm assuming for 33 you didn't get every expansion and such.
Just looked, and aside from buying the current season pass, that legacy bundle would get me caught up. Probably buying that tonight.
Have you picked up Osteo Striga at the enclave? I forgot to mention it and just thought about it as I upgraded mine. It has to be the best PvE gun in the game right now and you get it after the campaign
Here’s a general preemptive apology to the general Destiny trials playerbase if you matchmake with me in freelance this weekend. I’m just slumming it up trying to get a new Reed’s since it has veist stinger in it now.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Stormchaser outclasses it now. But it's still nice to have in case it gets nerfed I suppose.
Stormchaser for up close, Reeds for further away is my general thought. But I only have one storm chaser with a shit roll so I'm not enamored with it yet.
but I have been considering doing a Duality 2nd boss (or Caitl) farm to get a better Stormchaser drop. Might be a better use of my time.
I've been doing some farming. All I get is armor I swear. Best Stormchaser I've got so far is well rounded + firing line.
I haven't farmed it yet, just regular runs. Have only had one storm chaser drop and it was rangefinder (which I guess isn't too bad since the range is its Achilles heel) and adaptive munitions which I'm not using Stormchaser for. I've only had 3 weapon drops from the dungeon the entire time. The pulse, which I really like, and the fusion rifle are the other two. The rest has been armor that I don't like.
Just messing around with the stormchaser I have and it turns out I have pretty great range on this roll. With small bore and projection fuse plus a range masterwork I'm at 58 range, plus whatever effect rangefinder is giving me (it's not in the base range stat, is it?). Was testing it out across the castellum and when I could hit crits I was matching what my Reeds will do at that distance as far as damage falloff. I won't ever be DPS'ing from that range, but it's nice to know that it can have equivalent range. The problem is hitting crits. I can hit crits with the Reeds at that range without much problem. With the Stormchaser, I'm lucky to hit one of the 3 rounds at that distance.
For something like Caitl at the end of Duality her head is so big and you are so close it's super easy to hit all three shots of the burst. On something like Rhulk you definitely need someone running Divinity.
got reeds on first trials engram. auto loading and focused fury. what am i looking for for this thing?
Focused fury isn’t awful, but you’re looking for vorpal or firing line in the 4th perk. Clown cartridge, triple tap, auto loading in the 3rd.
Triple tap/firing line is the god roll. But there are some other good rolls with vorpal and what not.
Yep, gave it about a dozen tries and best was getting him to summon golems (maybe 40%.) Idk, not sure if I’m going to stick it out or just go back to regular so I can continue the campaign.
I think I need to spec more resilience instead of recovery. Im doing a regen solar build, so it seems reasonable to have a bigger health pool rather than just buffing the regen speed.
