Just remembered this board taught me about that song 6 years ago. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/random-things-youve-always-wondered.88734/
There were a bunch of them. The preview seems to suggest we're going back to the 70s when they were written.
Well, idk, all i did was pause and read the titles during a playback of the show. I guess it is possible I got them that wrong.
I went down a rabbit hole and was reading about that last night. makes the song even more fascinating to me
I'm really intrigued by what's going to happen. As it stands right now, the only competent characters are Coon's Burgle, VM Vargas, and Shea Wigham's sheriff. Everyone else seems like they're going to fuck up whatever plans they formulate. Thewlis killed again this week. "By the end of this, you'll be billionaires...at least on paper."
Finally caught up. Wanted to stay out until I watched both. Was that an ehrmantraut in there? Google has conflicting reports. If it was a bb shout out, I loved it. Big fan through 2 eps. And, like others have said, music has been again on point
Unless the California crew somehow comes back in play that seemed like a wasted episode Rip my dog minksy tho, all lil dude tried to do was help. :'(
Read this on reddit but the box Gloria found in her hotel room is called a useless machine invented by a man named Marvin Minsky. Of course the robot in Thaddeus' story was named Minsky.
Couple of thoughts: -The Axel Foley detour was good for Gloria's development but also to rule out motive. -I think Ewan did the voice of the dying astronaut and Thewlis the federation leader. Wonder if Winstead was the robot. -The toilet fixture being Stussy was pretty great. -People love Arby's -Good call casting Frances Fisher and her daughter in that role. (BTW, that's Clint Eastwood's daughter too) -Dirtbag Mac is the best Mac
Loved episode three. The symbolism going on is endless. Gloria is turning out to be a brilliant character.
I forgot my other favorite line. Gloria is just getting there, you hear Mac "Two beers please." She sits down "Do you want two beers as well?"
So I just finished Season 2. I fucking love this show, it's up there with Breaking Bad for me. The twists and turns are so unpredictable and well done. I'm about to ask an idiot question though. Was it widely advertised that it was a prequel? It absolutely blew my mind in the finale when they revealed that Molly was the little girl in Season 2. I figured they were doing a completely different story, American Horror Story style, and that the fact that both characters were "Solverson" was just a nod to the first season. In hindsight, it was clearly obvious and I'm just an idiot, with all the mentions of Sioux Falls in Season 1. I probably would have caught it if I had watched season 1 more recently. Since I didn't watch live, I'm just trying to understand if Season 2 was advertised that way or if it was supposed to be a twist.
It was advertised that the story would center around a young Lou but no details were given about anything whatsoever. Everyone assumed it would involve Sioux Falls but no one knew what that meant. And the cameo scene was completely unexpected. But I think what made it such great television is that we knew Lou lives and I still constantly feared for his life. Great writing and great acting.
I was super bummed when I thought they killed her. Happy she's alive. These last few eps have been super good.
We're probably in the minority but pretty underwhelmed so far. There's gonna be some insane episodes coming up that will likely convince me that this season was great though.
Michael Stuhlbarg looks like a mixture of Joaquin Phoenix and Nick Offerman. Guy was awesome this week
Spoiler here... I was disappointed in the way that Ray died. Emmit barely hit him with the frame and a piece of glass slices his carotid? Meh.
Will be interesting to see how he decides to navigate this. I feel like someone like him would just cut his losses and get out of there once things got too hairy. Might still end up going that way but I don't think he foresaw (nor could he have) the idiocy between the brothers. And now Burgle's complete technological absence will cause some undue paranoia.
Season is really picking up steam at the end. Eli Thompson police chief guy plays such a punchable fuck in everything
Mr. Wrench is now the only character to have appeared in all 3 seasons. When his drum track started playing I couldn't help but smile.
I remember he was always with the numbers guy in s1, what did he do in s2? It was brief right? (maybe not)
He and Numbers were seen in the season 2 finale as kids playing baseball while Hanzee sat in the bleachers. Some older kids started going after them and eventually Hanzee intervenes and, it's assumed, he takes them under his wing.
