N95 Worldwide Steppers Die Hard Rich Spirit We Cry Together Silent Hill Savior Mr. Morale Mirror All got multiple replays after a first run through.
Pretty sure that Taylour Paige is the actress from Zola. She brought such a performance to that track. Incredible
Auntie Diaries was a ride, doesn’t he mention Demetrius in GKMC? Father Time was the star of the show for me on first listen
I'll be honest, my heart skipped a beat when I saw that in the track list, because I didn't know what type of shit kendrick would be on. Silly me
Purposely blasting We Cry Together knowing the couple that lives in the apartment next to me was in the hallway arguing about something the other night
Yeah agreed. Im not a fan of kodak black, not from the standpoint of hate, just that as Im older and not in tune with things, Im very selective in what I listen to. That being said, I love Kodak Blacks verse.
it is absolutely astounding how much kodak appears in this album. What an interesting relationship. His Rich - Interlude is great
Just a heads up, it looks like you need a cash app account and one of their debit cards to access the Presale
I don’t really think I’ve ever listened to Kodak Black. I know who he is and it isn’t because I don’t like him, but just haven’t ever listened to his music but I loved his verses.
His confidence is always on 10 but the vulnerability seems to hit that level too in this album, or at least that's what jumped out to me and maybe why you feel that way
Man this album, this is why you don’t crank out 4 garbage albums a year……it takes time to make quality masterpieces like this !
Greatly appreciate the message on Auntie Diaries. Dropping ~10 “faggots” though is going to be a thing, and honestly should be. Has to be a better way.
I did. And it’s very good, both sound and message. It’s the using it 10 times in the song that just seems a bit ridiculous to me. I don’t think many straight people, especially straight rappers, would get the benefit of the doubt on that regardless of intent. Perhaps it’s fair that Kendrick does, but it’s worth talking about either way.
Mistakenly I didn’t think you’d know any different See, I was taught words was nothing more than a sound If everything was pronounced without any intentions The very second you challenge the shit I was kicking Reminded me about a show I did out the city That time I brung a fan on stage to rap But disapproved the word that she couldn’t say with me You said “Kendrick, ain’t no room for contradiction To truly understand love, switch position ‘F—-t, f—-t, f—-t,’ we can say it together But only if you let a white girl say ‘N—a'”
Again, I understand the message. I had a gay person in my life text me this morning and he talked about the song and how good it is, but also how jarring “faggot” is and has been to people like him and that he just didn’t need to hear it repeated like that in the song for the message to get across. It’s a word that causes people real pain and I’ve seen that same sentiment out in Twitter this afternoon.
too much kodak for my tastes considering the album themes and some of the shit he’s been in trouble for but it’s a great record
