Not a Chomp Chomp fan. The pho place right around the corner is my favorite in town though. Downtown burrito gallery best brurito gallery, too.
Parents live in Atlantic beach. Apparently the world of beer in jax beach already closed? Hadn't even visited jax since it had been open.
yea they closed about two weeks ago, from what i heard they had trouble keeping up with the liquor license
It's on my list. It looks eerily similar to the Denver Biscuit Company here. http://www.denbisco.com/menu http://maplestreetbiscuits.com/menu/ Denver Biscuit Company is incredible and only about 2-3 blocks from my apartment, so I have some high expectations considering their websites look so much alike.
Sounds like a franchisee issue. http://jacksonville.com/business/2015-10-20/story/world-beer-closes-jacksonville-beach A spokeswoman for the company would give no details about the closing. But she did say that the company has entered into an agreement with a second franchisee who is looking for other locations in the area.
Chomp Chomp is wonderful as long as you don't look at the incredibly unkempt folks making your food or don't get into a discussion with the owner.
I had the misfortune of having a conversation with the owner... Wasn't aware he owned The Fox as well.
Forgot about the Pho place until I'd already ordered. Actually considered eating there immediately after, just to try it. Have heard great things
Know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm not a fan of Maple Street. Perhaps it was too over-hyped & my expectations were too high, but I wasn't impressed.
I've been to the Pho place off Baymeadows and Southside. I thought it was pretty good, but I don't know much about Pho. It was basically fucking soup with some meat in it "No tendon, no tripe, please. thanks."
That's "Bowl of Pho" & it's decent, but twice the price as PK Noodles (off Beach near FSCJ) & not as good. I used to work with a bunch of Vietnamese guys & they refused to go anywhere but PK...
Yea, that's it. It's really the only Pho I've ever had so not like I have anything else to compare it to and it's near the office. I'll def check out PK, thanks
Yeah, he is an odd dude. I was in a group that met with him when MM was going in across the street from Fox. He got angry, walked outside, sat indian-style in the parking lot and started to cry. I am probably a couple years older than most of you (at a minimum), but he used to be the bassist in a local band that signed with Sub Pop when the grunge explosion was going on.
Hahaha I went there two weeks ago and got their teriyaki chicken, it was fucking amazing. The two guys I was with got pho and were mad as fuck because it was terrible. They tried mine and both went back just for that.
My old man still won't go to the mellow mushroom in Avondale as a silent protest to their presence. He also yells at clouds.
Ran into him randomly at Chamblin downtown two weeks ago. Think he was looking at some conspiracy books.
Last year was my first time experiencing Petes block party on thanksgiving day. What a blast. Walked my cooler down the street from my parents house. Went to lemon bar for a couple rounds then some bocce on the beach. Was fairly lit, which made for some colorful conversation with extended family.

My wife sent me this this am... It's just crazy man. We are moving to Flagler Beach in the next year.
To be fair, those murders aren't happening downtown. Actually had a lunch meeting with a group today to discuss that exact topic among other things. Y'all need to try the jerk chicken at Island Tropics on Main. It's top notch but the surrounding environs may frighten you.
Have we discussed Metro Diner now doing dinner? The wife said like three of her students got jobs there. I am excite.
Who wants to be associated with Dreams Come True? I nominate killrbee7 since I believe he is in residency. We need someone on the young professional board that is willing to hit on this and tell the board about her tits. http://jacksonville.com/slideshow/2016-02-02/career-track-new-hires-promotions-february-2016#slide-3
What's the best local beer here? I'm in Amelia Island and will be driving home, so I've got room if it's worth it.
If you're and IPA guy DoubleDrop IPA from Engine-15 is my favorite. Don't think they bottle that so you gotta get it in a growler at the brewery. Count Shakula chocolate stout out at Green Room is pretty good if thats what you're into.
Go to aardwolf and get growlers of their gose and White Russian stout. They may have packaged beer too, so get that also.
You can get Intuition I-10 & King St stout cans at any local shop. Aardwolf bottles may still be around & Funky Budha as well if you want other FL brews
There's this brewery kind of near the zoo called Budweiser. They make a pretty solid beer. Should grab a few.
Best bottled IPA would be E15's Imperial Simcoe. I'm pretty sure they still have it at their beach location, but likely have it downtown at their brewery well. Whatever Aardwolf has to offer is a solid choice.
Second the simcoe. Jorts Zack Zedalis and known asshole Arkadin made sweet love to me after imbibing said delights.
