I’ve actually gotten it from Brian McClintic’s club — Viticole. I’ve really enjoyed it because it’s often varietals and locations I otherwise wouldn’t be able to find.
Nice. I’ve heard good things about his club. He’s a great Instagram follow. Rajat Parr is another good one - his Sandhi chards are amazing.
Bought a case from Davenport wines that was suggested in here. Was pretty nice seeing a 50% discount on them when I checked out. Looking forward to getting them next week.
My understanding is its a high end winery that gives extra cases to Last Bottle on the condition of anonymity. Above, I'm guessing I likely bought the same one as you. Just waiting on all my bottles to ship out. The downside is we don't know what it is, so if we love it, it will be tough to get. Hope its tasty!
In case you have time on your hands, this was a good Washington and moreso Gramercy 101 that Greg Harrington did for the Asian market last night. Jack’s echo is a little annoying but at least he doesn’t talk that much.
Sharing here from another thread. I bought a 6 pack from LOLA today, free shipping. Friend of 941Gator Pretty good deal I think: https://lolawines.orderport.net/product-details/0099/The-LOLA-Pinots-plus-2-Free-Rose
Just signed up. I really enjoy trying different things from off the beaten path and this seems like a pretty good avenue to do that.
That was me. Have had 1 corked bottle out of 10ish I have opened. I got them at 65% off and have not had a better wine at the price.
Way to one-up me with the 65% off! Spoiler Opened one two nights ago and really enjoyed it. A lot going on in the bottle. I think I am going to read up on each bottle before I drink some and see if I can find the tastes and smells they are going for.
Reliving our trip to Napa one bottle a night Last night was a Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvée tonight Cosentino’s The Poet Saturday Nickel and Nickel Sunday Mumms and OJ
That's not a brand I know... what's the feedback on it? I'm going with Perlick in my kitchen remodel.
30% off bottles and 40% off cases of a couple of vintages of Beringers private reserve https://www.beringer.com/wines/varietals/cabernet-sauvignon
My favorite blend and it’s not close. $85 a bottle on their website right now. I’ve never seen it retail for that
Almost hate to spread this winery, but has anyone else been to or had wine from Boich Family Cellars. They have some of their own grapes but also sourcing from Beckstoffer. Georges III and To Kalon at better prices than Shafer and others.
Reminds me of our rookie trip to Napa when we were first getting into wine (still don’t know much but much more than we did then). We were doing tastings all day and kind of going for quantity of places we could see. Someone said oh you have to go to Opus, so we made a reservation. Most places we had been were tastings, reasonably priced. I about shit my pants when we got to the tasting room there, did not appreciate what it was at that time for what we paid. I’ll never forget that. And they were so uppity and the least friendly staff we came across that entire trip.
Cool. The COO is a good dude. Super responsive through email. The To Kalon just launched so may not be on the site yet. I also haven’t tasted it yet, just got to me. The Georges III the last 3 years has been awesome right away and I’ve laid some down. The Missouri Hopper is big and beautiful but still tight imo. Need cellaring.
pperc My allocation from them: a Chardonnay 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon- NVS 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon- Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard
Hmm, no Georges III? That’s disappointing. Perhaps shoot them an email and ask about it? My take is they, like most wineries, are hurting. I know they are also offering a 3 pack of Beckstoffer - MH, GIII, and TK. Edit: I have not had the NVS
That’s what I’m saying, man. Plus if you visit them in Napa they only do private tastings and the house/view is incredible. I emailed the coo and he sent me a 3 pack of the To Kalon even though it wasn’t an option. As soon as wife gives birth next week and we are home I’m opening one.
They just replies their to kalon hasn’t been released to the public yet but they’re willing to sell in 3 packs to people who reach out to them 675/3 That’s the cheapest to kalon you’ll find
Was it Jnani? Told ya he’s great. 675 is what I paid and he threw in free shipping for me to PA. You buying a 3 pack?
Should I arrange a zoom wine tasting for the board? Could probably find someone sending 3-4 bottles for 75-125
Hot take incoming but I don’t think opus one is worth the hype. It is a very good wine but is about $100 in wine and $150 in marketing.
Just ordered six bottles. These folks are nice and helpful. My Paul Hobbs bottles got here on Saturday. I had one of the 2010 Beckstoffer Las Piedras. Really Really Really good. Looking forward to having a bottle of their To Kolon when I have a decent reason. They get the pick of the litter at the To Kalon vineyard so his shit is amazing.
Yeah, not sure Boich is getting first pick but I don’t think it matters much. You are correct - they are wonderful people. Sent me a free 3 pack once because a shipment it took 2 weeks to get to me during a heat wave (wine was fine).
