Listen buddy I couldn’t care less about you, some random stranger I’ll never see again. I want my cheddar
if you're playing for fun yes(less than $25/hand). If your playing for real money you better not hit 14 against a 2
This is good to hear re: Final Four weekend, I figured the hotels would be 3X. Fucking love Vegas. In terms of day clubs, I’ve done: Wet Republic Encoré Marquee What are some other favorites?
looks like the RE topic was covered. will be in Vegas for work in 10 days. Staying at the Golden Nugget
Going to be in Vegas Monday-Friday next week for the International Builder's Show. Never been before. Staying at MGM Grand. How do I become rich next week? Thank you for your help.
Learn basic craps. The quick overview: this is from the “regular side”. There is an opposing side to all of these you can also bet. That just reversed the win/loss. A turn starts by rolling the dice. 7 or 11 on that first roll (“come out roll”) anyone betting the pass line (we’ll get to tat in a second$ wins. 2/3/12 those bets lose. Anything else 4/5/6/8/9/10 becomes your “point”. The idea is you want to re-roll that same number before a 7. Roll that number and you win. Next roll is a new “come out” bad you go on until you “seven out” meaning you roll a 7 after you set a point. Then the dice pass. the one bet I’d stick with is pass line. That is a bet you put down saying “yes, the shooter will win in one of those ways”. Once a point is rolled you can add money to this bet, called “odds”. It’s called that because it pays you the exact odds of that number happening. No house take. This bet wins on a point or loses on a 7. so you walk up wait for a new shooter and put $10 pass line. Roll 11. You won 10. Next roll 3 you lost 10. Next roll 8. Point is 8. We want 8. You back up your first bet with odds. Say 50. Roll 3, nothing, next. Roll 6. Nothing, next. 6, next. 5, next. 8. Win! You get your pass line 10 and odds paid at 60 since the odds are 6/5 for an 8 to come up. At this point you’re: +10 (11) 0 ( 3) +70 (8 winner) shooter comes out again. 5. Put up odds of say 20 since 5 is harder to make. 9. 7. Lose. Shooter’s turn is over. Pass the dice. Rinse. Repeat. +40 after you lost your 10 + 20 odds. There are tons of other odds based bets you can place, but avoid those until you really feel comfortable with step 1.
Always always always consider your gambling money pre-spent before you go. Like an admission ticket. If you want to gamble with $1,000 and your flight and hotel are 750 your trip cost you $1,750 up front and that money is gone. Coming home with anything is your bonus.
Two very easy ways to learn craps too. One is the free lessons hosted at most casinos, although I have never done this. There are also those bubble craps machines that generally have a really low minimum and while you’re getting the hang of these basic bets there are screens that will explain them. We’ve had an easier time getting the girls to try this game out, probably more because of the lower mins
Yeah the biggest hurdle to newbies to Craps is going to the table and looking like an idiot IMO. The video/bubble crap things are perfect for figuring out the ins and outs without having to do it in front of others. Plus the low minimums make your money last longer. Even on a cheap craps table, you can blow through $100 in a matter of minutes. That said, I've learned the most about Craps just by going to a cheap table during a slow time (and relatively sober) and just chatting up the dealers.
I just want to win money playing blackjack so I'm going to double my bet after each bet so that way I can't lose right?
Just booked a room at the Cosmo 4/3-4/5...I'm a Titanium with Marriott, what are the chances I get upgraded? Thinking slim to nil but a man can dream
As in like a discounted rate to upgrade or use points to upgrade? Or a complimentary one if available?
Word - sorry to be the naive dummy, but you mean bribe as in an actual bribe? Like slide $50 across the table and ask if they have any elite upgrades? Trying to discern how obvious I can be before getting them in trouble with their manager ha
$20 trick. Google it and you can read for hours. There is a whole sub board on it here: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?forums/20-trick-section.52/
In the Vegas industry it’s called ‘The Sandwich’. And don’t worry much about the Manager. He/She came up through the system and knows. However, do be discreet. Plus, they want to keep their employees happy. $50 will get you more than $20.
Just gotta hope fsu doesn’t play Thursday. My wallet will like the one less day of betting. However, I’m afraid of the physical, mental and financial shape I’ll be in on Sunday afternoon. Three nights in Vegas is a longgg time.
My first Vegas trip was also March Madness. We got in Wednesday night and left Monday morning due to flight prices. One of the dumbest decisions of my life, especially since Sunday night was the longest night of all. That flight home was torture
Did a full Labor Day weekend two years ago for a bachelor party. Swore off anything more than two nights in Vegas after that. Had to make an exception for March madness.
Do it sometime. Get a nice room you don’t hate and want to leave immediately. Pool. Grab a beer and take a walk. Casino hop. Downtown. An empty casino in daytime is relaxing. Encore is really awesome with its natural light. Just feels nice.
I’d like to delve into the food scene more as well. Had a nice steak dinner during one trip, but that’s been about it.
