Anybody doing this fluffy cloud shenanigan on saturday? I'll be back and forth between there and the indoor venue where Ngtmare is playing
yea we're partially doing it to avoid SXSW this weekend. There's hardly anything I've done that I enjoyed the first weekend of SX. It always ends up being days/nights of just going out and everything is 2-3x more crowded than it normally is. Weekend 2 is typically pretty fun and I'll probably be downtown all next weekend
Don't feel like scouring this big thread but just booked a 5 day trip for the Bama Texas game this year in Austin. Looking for a few restaurant suggestions and sights to see
I've been gone for 3 years, and it's not in the cities top 10 or anything, but Pinthouse Pizza should be worked in if you've got 5 days.
In no particular order: Mayfield Park Peacock Reservation Hill Country bluebonnet fields Bats flying around the Congress bridge Vince Young Steakhouse
Bluebonnet fields won't be active in the fall, but maybe swap for the Lady Bird Wildflower center in South Austin.
I plan on eating countless places. I'm a foody so all suggestions will be great. Our airbnb is right directly next to a Franklin BBQ, an Easy Tiger beer garden, and Lazarus Brewing company. Don't know if any are worth it but figured I'd toss that out there since it's all within walking distance
You can hit a driver in most directions from anywhere downtown and find a pretty damn good asian tapas / sushi spot. Also apparently the current latest trend I've noticed in the food here is everyone making their version / opening up a place that serves smash burgers
Yea there went from like 2 of those to like 5-6 of them now that I'm aware of. The one opening with Native Hostel looks good. The ones priced at ~$125/person I wouldn't say are overpriced. I've spent $250 at plenty of nice restaurants here for a nice dinner date. Albeit most of those probably included $50ish in drinks Last 2 times I've gone on a date to Soto the tab has been around $200. Probably my favorite japanese place at the moment
Plenty of great places to eat/drink near there. Would highly recommend making reservations well in advance, especially for that weekend. Suerte, La BBQ (better than Franklin imo) Justine's and Licha's are some of our favorites over that way
I dropped 320 a musashino on monday night :-( I just discovered Sushi Junae Omikase on congress and I think that place might have the best nigiri in the city. Not super expensive either, 9 bucks for chutoro, 4 bucks for sake toro
They found the red truck https://www.kxan.com/news/local/bas..._app&utm_medium=social&utm_content=share-link
after reading that article now I'm curious who the hell it was in the truck... someone that saw a tornado coming and saw a truck and just said fuck it I need that truck?
My guess would be he's of questionable citizenship status, which is why he didn't say much to the officer, left his truck at a friend's house, and apparently turned down bring interviewed by the tv news
city permits approved for the 1,000+ ft tower https://austin.towers.net/downtown-...-gets-the-green-light/[email protected]
keep on building and don't pay any mind to the transportation problems with the additional bodies getting to and from these fancy new 1000ft tall buildings everyday. gonna work out great
Odesza + Sylvan Esso + San Holo at COTA on 8/19 come get loose with ya boy in the GA PIT. Tickets go on presale tomorrow if you sign up on their website. Some FIRE concerts lined up for this summer
Also if anyone else happens to be seeing Bon Iver on Saturday we've got a little group going in the GA area you should come chill. Have 1 extra ticket still that hasn't sold on TM that I could part with for face value ($60) if anyone ITT to want to go last minute.
oh my god those tickets sold out so quick. got on right at 10 and 2000+ people in the queue. none of us got tickets so I guess just gonna have to wait and see how much scalpers are gonna charge for that shit because I'm 100% going to this concert and standing in that goddamn pit
well two of my friends initially bought 100 level seats just to have something and already flipped them for 2x face looks like there's a shit ton of Pit for sale on secondary markets for $300 far enough along in life that that's not as big of a deal as it used to be but hopefully those prices will come down. Face value for them was $130. Probably wait until pretty close to time and see if prices have dropped I highly doubt all the 20something year olds will pay 300 for a concert ticket at COTA.
Yeaaaa that's not the area you relocate to unless you're rich as hell. Probably in line with areas like Travis Heights. I'd love to live in one of those areas eventually but for most of us normal people that's not a realistic area to even approach until mid-late 40s...
its wild even up here in cedar park. bought our house 8 years ago for $175k and could probably get $500k or more now
I have no intention of leaving my place anytime soon. I may stay here until I retire and then who knows. I'll absolutely net $1 million+ when I do. My niece will at least appreciate me when I'm dead.
its a leftover drip email from when I was shopping there in 2017. I've bought in Fort Worth, and I think they flagged my zip as 17% increase v last year.
