You staying near State College or in Pittsburgh for Saturday night? You aren’t getting out of the stadium area till very late Saturday night. Traffic is a shit show getting out of there after night games
https://www.centredaily.com/news/local/community/state-college/article252600013.html Atlanta and Birmingham —> State College flights being offered for the week of the game.
Just booked our flight yesterday. We're flying in to Philadelphia and staying there Wed-Fri and driving over Friday evening to stay with some of my wife's family and go to the game Saturday.
Good to see they are doing this again. I believe a lot of the major carriers started doing more routes to college towns for big games right before the pandemic.
#Penn State Nittany Lions I need some help. Originally we were going to be heading out of the country over this weekend and blocked out our schedule. Since that doesn't seem like the best idea we are going to be trying to make it to the game last minute. Right now we are trying to figure out a semi economical way to get back to Baltimore where we are flying out of hopefully about 11 Sunday morning. Is Harrisburg going to be our best bet? How bad is it going to suck getting there after a night game?
Its fucking awful leaving right after the game. I'm probably driving back to Lancaster but I plan on hitting a bar till late and drive home post traffic clearing
Why are you flying out of Baltimore and where are you trying to get to? You are lucky if you’d get to Harrisburg by 2 am after a night game. Of all of the directions to go after the game that might be the worst in my opinion. Not even worth the hotel since you are still a good drive from Baltimore especially for an early flight on Sunday.
maybe stay in Lancaster and drive from there to Baltimore. Probably 2.5 hour drive. still going to suck getting to Lancaster after the game.
I would stay in York not Lancaster. It would cut off about 20/25 minutes off his drive to BWI. He can catch 83 South and be at the airport in an hour from york.
I’d personally look to fly out of Pittsburgh or a smaller airport like Harrisburg (MDT) or even Wilkes Barre (AVP). I’m closer to Wilkes Barre and once you get on I80 East traffic will move.
Steelers/Raiders tickets acquired as I'll be in Pitt for a wedding this weekend, where should we eat around the stadium or the Fairmont?
Baltimore is literally the only flight out of our crappy little local airport. We are near an air force base so it is primarily used for defense contractors but it is a quick easy flight to get to the north east. It saves us enough time on the front end and back end where it is worth the inconvenience. The tentative plan is for us to hang around Baltimore and Annapolis then swing up for the game. The other thing I thought about doing is going all the way to Gettysburg. It is a longer drive that night but gets me an hour from the airport and it seems like there are multiple routes to get down there.
Really disappointed I can't got to this game. Was pumped to go when it was scheduled. Stupid procreation
If all my Auburn Frat bros need advice on how to fit in attire wise vs looking like you're about to attend a casual Friday at work...lmk. I can advise you on quality cargo shorts and jerseys. I
Penn St folks, what are we looking at for parking. I will be coming in from Southern Pennsylvania and leaving that way. Do I have to get one of the University paid lot passes? While those exist in Auburn I don't think I have ever actually parked in one. I typically park on a side street off campus or pay someone to park in their yard.
There are side streets available to park on the southwest side of town, but you are looking at an hour + walk to/ from the stadium from there. There are some garages downtown, but those fill up quick on game weekends. Parking pass would be the best option I think. However, if you do get a spot downtown somewhere, leaving postgame going to the south from there is no issue at all and you should be able to get out postgame without too much trouble.
They have few guys that looked pretty decent vs Wisconsin. #17 on the edge seems to be their best edge rusher from that game, blocked a FG too. I believe they do a lot of stunts and twists on the DL, which seems to not be the best fit for our OL. Hopefully we see a quicker passing game from Game 1 to negate that rush and maybe a little more screens to the RBs.
First to 20 wins this game. I don't think there is going to be a lot of scoring. Feel like both defenses are better than the respective offenses
