Jesus. ANOTHER blown game by our bullpen. These fuckers have all the talent in the world, but they can't close a game for the life of them. Not sustainable in the playoffs.
I wasn't worried about it earlier in the year...shit happens. But it is September and our bullpen is still consistently blowing games. So frustrating.
Looks like it'll be the #Houston Astros in the ALDS. Care to give me a run down on the Stros, HotMic ?
Yes, huge Astros fan, baseball has long been my favorite sport and i'm a bigger Astros fan than anything OSU-related. But i shall respect Corch's wishes here!!! Don't really have time to share much anyway
He’s a good boy, though mischievous at times. Very loyal to Elroy, even if George doesn’t always pay him the respect he deserves. Needs to work on not using r’s to begin every word.
For any of you looking to make game watching plans, TBS' site is saying that the Indians - Astros game will be the earlier start on Friday afternoon at 5:00 (Eastern, i assume), although nothing official has been announced yet: Spoiler: From TBS' site
Figured as much, no way they were going to risk a possible Yankees-Sox matchup not being in prime time.
where the hell are our bats? Why are we bringing Andrew Miller in? What the fuck is this 7th inning clown show?
welp... it's obvious that these guys have thrown in the towel.... Goodbye Miller, Allen, Brantley Diaz should be an everyday starter next year
B.T.W. Frankie and Yan were the only everyday starters that even remotely showed up in this series /rant
Allen has been broken pretty much all year..... At least the Astros will get to face hitters with a pulse against either NY or Boston /rant
The bullpen needs completely revamped this offseason. Another priority has to be adding a quality everyday outfielder and not a washed up retread.
this team was never very good tbh. they feasted on a horrid division. excluding the central, i'm not sure they even broke .500. there's still talent so hopefully they can patch some holes and make another run with a stronger team next year it would also be nice if jose would stop turning into a pumpkin every october
baseball's a really weird sport. it's hard to tell when the stars will align for you. our run two years ago didn't really make much sense considering how patchwork our team was, but we got scorching hot at the right time and found a viciously successful formula with our SP and bullpen. then last year we had an indestructible team that inexplicably collapsed at the worst possible time. this year though, you could kind of tell. we never got the bullpen sorted out and the offense never really played up to its talent level. issues that exist for 162 games don't magically get fixed against 100 win teams.
They need three starting position players in addition to probably having five open spots in the bullpen. Kipnis has worn out his welcome, I also think part of the reason the Indians were willing to trade Mejia was because they don’t believe Zimmer and Naquin will be as good as they were projected to be, so their window of contention is limited. Zimmer will be 27 and Naquin will be 28 and still have not made an impact. Díaz hasn’t been good enough defensively at any position and for some reason only can hit ground balls. The rest of their position player prospects are not close enough to be realistic options. They’ll still win the central but They’ve got a lot of holes. Maybe Donaldson sticks around on a prove it deal and Brantley resigns for a discount but he had a pretty good year, so someone will probably offer him more than the Indians can. I think you bring back Carrassco. Re-sign Brantley and Martin. Try to get Donaldson on a reasonable contract. Let Chisenhall, Tomlin, Allen, and Davis walk.
They would have needed to steal the Indians' bats for it to have mattered, but this is interesting nonetheless: https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-re...mpting-steal-signs-information-032027336.html
