damn sorry for your loss. Did he have history of them or was it just sudden? Feel free to tell me to fuck off if you don’t care to answer this .
Damn dude. You gave him an incredible second chance at life and I know he paid that back several times over. Hang in there.
That’s awful. My little brown green eyed beagle named Barley died the same way. But unfortunately he had a prolonged seizure and my ex wife didn’t find him until hours later. He survived for two days after but passed away in his sleep. Poor little dudes.
2 year old lab has always jumped up at the gate when i walk near it, no matter how many times I tell her to stop. She doesn’t hit it super hard like I'm not worried she is gunna force it open, she is mostly jumping straight up out of excitement and extends her front legs enough to hit it Welp this morning she finally did it, got her toe caught in the chain link on the gate. Never heard her yelp and cry that loud ever. Scared the shit outta the 6 year old. I got her loose pretty quickly and luckily she doesn't appear to have actually injured it. But ill be damn she hasn't jumped at that gate once since.
We don’t really know, because he was a rescue. The vet guessed 7-9 when we got him four years ago, so he was definitely a senior,
it happens to cats frequently because they are super good at hiding pain/illnesses from their owners so they never know if they are ill or not and if they do show it you know its bad must be a wildlife thing they inherit
Mine was 8, the vet determined his heart just gave out, which I guess is fairly common for male cats. My mom found him when she got home from work, he was living with them while I was in grad school. He was supposed to come back with me when I moved later that year. He was a fucking baller, it sucked so much.
yeah, I see the difference with the hair now. High maintenance or not that bad? My parents would like another dog but the everyday cleaning because the dog is losing a ton of hair is annoying for 60+ people
They’re mainly hunting dogs. Very high energy. She was extremely difficult at first. The original owners thought she’d be a lap dog and gave her up when she was 1 cause they couldn’t handle the energy. Idk if it was our doing or our older mellow cavalier king charles but she is chill as can be now. Still could run for hours or loves just hanging around the house too.
i know all of that lol, raised this little English spaniel with my parents and later on In his life. I know exactly what you mean. They won’t stop until you stop. They are made to go, I honestly think you can run them to death. They are on a mission. i meant the hair around the house
Dogs>>>>> guns for protection. I live in a small complex. My unit and the building next to mine look almost 100% alike. Someone meant to go to another unit and came to mine. We have a bad habit of leaving the front door unlocked. Safe neighborhood know our neighbors etc. Anyway someone came to the door and started opening the door. Ive never heard Groot sound more aggressive while rushing to the door. Guy slammed the door shut and yelled sorry. I went to door and guy was apologetic. Honest mistake but rest assured a 75 pound angry bulldog wasn’t what he expected. Groot got treats and and well deserved praise and love. I told my wife “see I told you he was a good guard dog. Don’t mistake how he is with us to how he will react to strangers”.
and in his home, outside is probably a different matter but you don’t come to his family home without being invited.... I might need one exactly like him to keep the fil away.
as someone with a pit, I agree aint no one fucking with me on a late night walk either but I keep her leashed up to the max and crate trained when I am gone so at least I’m responsible
Our dogs are good with and interested in strangers, but if someone comes to the door unannounced, they make sure we know what’s happening. Hell, our collie will bark if someone walks up on our blind spots when we’re at the beach. Growing up I had a chow/husky/shepherd mix that was uber-protective of the house and it drove me nuts, but now that I’ve got a partner and baby on the way nothing makes me happier knowing that they’re looking after the family.
when we go out and leave our girls home alone, I tell them if someone comes to the door to let Groot bark as loud as he wants. Best burglar alarm on the market. In our complex all front doors face towards each other (only 8 units) with a shared outdoor area. Dogs barking too much too long will definitely draw attention.
Didn’t often leave my room unlocked at the fraternity house back in college . Well we were having a party and I had gone back to our dorm section to take a shit and i hear my dog growling and barking while I’m on the shitter. Lean forward around the stall and see the door to my room close. Thought well maybe someone was looking for me. Finish my business. Walk to my door and look across the hall and see 2 guys I had never seen before. Let my black lab Mix Bo out and he starts growling at them as i have him held by the collar and told them i think it’s time for y’all to leave. They agreed. Saved my room and a couple others from getting robbed that night. Bo was also about 2 at the time and weighed a light 115 lbs. Going on 12 years young and still loves pontoon rides
Well, it’s the smaller harlequin, the big boy is mine. He only has a chihuahua to play with here at the house, so it’s a treat for him (and me, I love Danes)
