Being a dec guy could work but there’s a ton of form work there that would probably be a super long process. Still, his all around ability is incredible even if he’s not like top top at the 100/200
having to learn Hurdles and PV take him out of the equation. There's a chance he can make an OLY team. It just comes down to luck
Great next 3 days of Track & Field upon us. NCAA outdoor prelims happening right now and the Pre Classic Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Should be a lot of record breaking attempts and a good preview of worlds later this summer.
NCAA outdoors start tonight, 6:30 on ESPN2. Semis today and tomorrow, finals Friday and Saturday. Today you have an absurd 100m semifinal heat with Fahnbulleh, Boling, and maybe the best 100m runner in the US right now in Micah Williams. Think it should happen at 740ish.
Beautiful weather today. Boling not even close in the 100M. Micah Williams with a 10.01 with a .6m/s headwind and let up with 20M left.
Lucky's Lake Swim? My daughter was there filming the event. Rowdy is a great guy...extremely personable with EVERYONE.
no, going off without a hitch Fahnbulleh with a 10 flat, he nearly had an insane comeback in the 4x1 too. He will roll to the 200. Pretty nuts.
Boling gotta figure something out. He’s the only top tier guy that gets worse as the season goes on. Guy is like 2-3 tenths slower in the 100 and 200 than he was two months ago. Meanwhile Fahnbulleh peaked perfectly.
We could be looking at the next Allyson Felix. She has run sub 49 in the 4x400 twice recently the same day she had already run the 100, 200 and 4x1.
Swimming world championships this week. Bowman building a French kid to destroy Phelps’ 400 IM record, just went 2nd fastest ever.
A lot of greatness so far. Italian killed the 100 back WR(we had it for like 30 years). David Popovio is 17 and won 200 free and real chance to beat WR in 100 tomorrow. Milak beat his 200 fly WR by over 3 tenths. The French IMer is a monster. Ledecky not near her prime times but strongest she’s been in a while something happened with Dressel and he scratched 100 free, say it’s non-covid
Seems like Dressel has serious mental health problems. Quit the pro swimming league after a hiatus post Olympics then just quit worlds after 2 days, really sad.
Swimming is brutal, can’t imagine a tougher sport to train for Looking at that black line at the bottom of the pool a few hours a day(the best do like 8-10) while feeling like you’re dying gives me ptsd
so easy to get mental burnout in swimming . at least distant runners can go on trails and more scenic routes when training
Why I only open water swim, it’s a million x more enjoyable than lap swimming. Even Rowdy Gaines who loves swimming more than anyone on this planet says practice sucks. CrossFit is the only thing I’d want to do less than a hard swim practice
I practice in Potomac River(dirty DC river) and have done a race in the Hudson, I’m not the best to answer this but have done some decent ones. Sharkfest is company we do most races through
I swim two times a week, usually a mile's worth of laps. It gets repetitive, but I run and do a stationary bike two more times during the week to mix it up. I'd feel so gross after swimming in the Chattahoochee or Lake Lanier.
Lanier gotten that bad? I always liked Lanier because so many water water sources enter it. Always felt like a good turnover of water.
This is basically how I would feel about any non-natural lake down here, just incredibly muddy and thick.
Looks like hypoxia. I don’t swim and thought lifeguards at Olympic events were mostly for intense cramping, but this now makes sense and resonates more. Seems like it’s more common in artistic swimming. Aside from sinking, I would guess the coach noticed something off because she knows the routine.
My niece just won the U20 national championship in the Heptathlon in Eugene today and will represent the USA in August at Worlds in Colombia.
US Mens 100m final coming up on CNBC in 30 minutes. Kerley just went like 9.83 and 9.76 in the heats. National record is 9.69.
The fellating of (mother) Allyson Felix is annoying. Why devote more time to a has been going through the motions than a prodigy?
Who is this prodigy you speak of in the women’s open 400? I do get tired of all the Felix talk but she’s basically the GOAT so I understand it. She also won two medals last year in the Olympics. That’s hardly going through the motions.
Talisha Diggs, the 19 year old that crushed the field. In regards to Felix, she’s won 1 individual gold medal. She most certainly isn’t the GOAT. She’s charismatic and has a big smile. The results ain’t there though.
doing the Olympic double in the 200 and 400 multiple times. She was the face of Womens sprinting for over a decade.
Trey and Grant gonna run away with the hurdles. Bracy is back on the good juice. Knighton is a freak. Crouser and Kovacs had a duel for the ages
