Does the literature show negative long term effects for the victims? Obviously, my gut says the guys get a high five and move on, but my brain assumes it's not that simple.
It can possibly have some negative effects on how they view teachers in the future, especially female ones...hard to maintain authority if the student thinks he's just going to plow you eventually.
I haven't followed any of these stories. Have female teachers received significantly different punishments from their male counterparts?
No I wouldn't. Having sex with someone of legal age is not pedophilia. Anyone who said that such a situation was pedophilia would just be showing ignorance as to what pedophilia truly is.
good point. they could be messed up when it comes to relationships also. I banged an older lady when I was 22, she was 37. Was such a freak in the sack that I expected the same with every girl I dated after for a few years. Like non of them could compare sexually.
I spent a night in kinston last month. i actually ate a decent meal downtown and the waitress was cute.
I'd say this is possible but has a lot more to do with the guy as a person, before any student-teacher affair. by age 16-17 you know the difference between a whore and a girl with self-respect. You knew who the easy girls were in your highschool that would hookup with any random guy at the party once they were 3 vodka drinks deep, just like you knew the girls that you had to date to get to 3rd base with. guys that think they've got a chance to fuck every attractive teacher the rest of their life because of one of these interactions with a legitimate slut are probably the same ones thought they were god's gift to the earth before it ever happened.
yes! i had the poutine and a few beers. i'd like to add Canton, NC to the bad NC list. any place where you can shit yourself and just blame the smell on the town belongs on that list.
Nice. The owner's original restaurant in Kinston, Chef and The Farmer, is incredible but requires reservations far in advance. Canton does suck but frankly, I was limiting my list to towns of a decent size. If we are going to name shitty towns in NC with < 5k population, we'd be here all day.
It was basically a bad smart ass joke that it is obvious her life is filled with bad choices without those signs. Obviously I was wrong because this puzzle is hard for you to figure out. A teacher who has sex with her students makes bad choices.

MARKED TREE, Ark. — An Arkansas art teacher has been arrested for sexual assault and there could be other victims, parents told WREG Arkansas State Police said they started investigating after at least one teenage boy made allegations of having a "sexual liaison" with 25-year-old Jessie Goline, a Marked Tree High School teacher. The encounters allegedly took place at her home in Jonesboro last semester, police said. The sexual assault charges come months after police began investigating. Marked Tree High administrators placed Goline on leave back in May. Parents say she was still gone when school started last month, but it's not clear if she's still on leave or was ultimately fired. Most parents had good things to say about the married teacher but didn't feel comfortable saying them on camera. Some parents said Goline is the victim of blackmail. WREG couldn't reach the prosecutor handling the case to discuss the allegation
Someone posted a collage of the notable female teacher predators, either in this thread or another, and the hotness was in almost perfect indirect proportion to the sentencing (cuter the gal, the more lenient the punishment). Like it was so hilariously accurate you could have arranged them 1-10 with no pics just based off their judgments. Of course maybe the person who created it cherry-picked his data set, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it were true.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...her-was-caught-having-sex-with-four-students/ Wright pressed Goline, asking her whether there was something she needed to tell him. “I’m not going to lose my husband,” she tearfully responded.
Whoa, Daniel Ocean cracking wise in a sexual assault thread. Never thought I would live to see the day. Spoiler are we doing beers in 2 weeks or no?
Lol at giving your students your phone number for "class-related texting" Literally the first thing they told us not to do in our TEP.
It happens all the time though. I freaked out a couple of years ago when a girl in my class sent me a text asking about an assignment. I didn't reply and asked her the next day how she got my number. Turns out she got it from a kid on the team (all our players have our numbers). Don't really know a good way to avoid that. I'm more surprised by the number of random parents who have teachers' numbers. I know teachers who text with parents all the time. There's no way in hell I'd ever do that.
For conference/IEP/504 purposes, at least the latter makes some sense. Literally nothing good can come from a student having my number, and there was actually a principal in our district who dismissed a female teacher just because he found out she had a male student's number.
Idk about that particular school, he was a guest speaker at one of our classes. He basically said that based on conversations he was having with the teacher in question, it seemed obvious that trouble was coming and he wanted to avoid an incident.
