Close. It looks like this as of this morning. New trigger, barrel, suppressor sights, optics and about 500 rounds through it. I bought it just to complete the 17, 19, 26 collection, but after shooting it I really like it. The shorter muzzle works for AIWB, and the full size grip was great for all of the draw drills we ran this morning. I might start carrying this mofo on the reg.
So after 5 weeks my Stealthgear Ventcore holster for my 43 has arrived. Over a month of waiting on a holster that costs $150. I immediately want to go order 10 more, they're that awesome!
I’m almost 100% pocket carry but that’s a nice lookin OWB holster. Are you a Hawaiian shirt kinda guy?
What kind of pocket holster do you run? I've never found one that I could easily draw from. I always felt like if shit went down I would get caught digging around in my pocket
I agree, or just carry appendix. Those belly bands get a little warm in the summer. I only wear mine when I have on shorts without belt loops
I pocket carry my trusty DB9 (more than 1k rounds through it with absolutely no problems) in a Braids wallet holster though I remove the wallet flap and carry it in my front pocket. https://www.braidsholsters.com/store/c2/Wallet_and_pocket_combo_holsters.html When I first got the holster I worked for a while on smooth draws and now it is muscle memory. You draw up and then almost horizontal so the holster "edge" catches on the corner of your pants and you come up clean and ready to go. Its by far for me the most convenient, way more so than a belly band you have to put on every dat or appendix carry which I find incredibly uncomfortable. I grab my phone keys wallet and gun and I'm out the door.
Stealthgear is having another sale, not a good as the last one but it still knocks the Ventcore holsters down to $122. Gonna get a couple HK's and maybe a gubmint 1911.
and for those of you who can't fill your jeans out they have what appear to be quite nice IWB stuff too
If anyone wants a superior holster I have a Stealthgear code for $40 off one Ventcore or $100 off two.
All great suggestions. If you just want it to be black and scary and throw 223/5.56 downrange, PSA is the best value
My first AR was a DPMS Oracle. Not sure you can find a cheaper POS AR, yet it functions perfectly well for my needs.
I’m of the mindset to resist the urge to entry level any gun. Save the dough, pay for top end, buy it once.
Anybody have anything in .450 Bushmaster? I'm thinking about getting a Ruger Scout Rifle chambered in it just because.
I looked at them and the .458 but ended up settling on the .50 Beowolf instead. This was uppers for my AR. They are all boomers and very expensive to shoot. That said, I do not regret the purchase.
i agree....my first ar was a sig....such a piece of shit....after that i went with alot of FNH and a few HK guns..expensive but worth it if your really into it.....that said the last few years i just build everything from the bottom up you get really nice stuff for a good price.....as a rule i put the majority of the money on the barrels, bcg, and triggers. A bad trigger will ruin a fantastic gun #geiselle.
Sad day, got the new issued 226. Long ass first trigger pull sucks. Gonna miss my vp9. Did buy a. Gen 5 G26 with night sights for 400 though
Liked for the two glocks, no doubt. I got some 12 round pmags for the new guy and there were multiple jams. Anyone know if that's a new gun thing with the bigger mags?
pmags are notorious for coming out of the bag new defective......temp really fucks with them...that said ive only had issues with the 556 30s not the 12 rounder pistol mags....jams from a clean gun are almost always a result of the magazine feeding properly or a limp wrist....so in your case i would say it almost def the mag.....i have fixed some quirky mags by loading them to capacity and keeing them loaded for a solid 2 weeks
never heard the limp wrist thing. Hoping it was just a new gun and the new mags. Gonna go shoot again Saturday
ive come to that also....if i was humping 30 miles and needed to cut weight sure give me some....but just punching paper at the range tough to beat metal mags
Any fan of leather holsters? I recommend https://www.craftholsters.com/ if you are looking for a custom one that doesn't cost you a fortune.
Never been a gun guy, always intrigued to at least get something self-defense for the home but never get around to actually doing my research and finding out where to start. Got robbed at gunpoint this past weekend so I think it's about (past) that time. Where should I start? Side note, moving to Texas in 2 weeks so I think a gun is provided in my welcome package.
Good Lord man, so sorry to hear about you being robbed. Food for thought, if you had been carrying at the time of robbery, what would the resulting best case and worst case scenarios have been had you drawn?
