Titans are showing some interest in Wyoming safety Andrew Wingard 6' 209 pounds and ran a 4.56 in the 40 and 7.08 3-cone drill at the combine (the latter 5th best among safeties in attendance). At his pro day, he improved on the 3-cone time to the tune of 6.88 seconds. Very good athlete who was also incredibly productive both in coverage and at the LOS or in the backfield. Would absolutely be on board with adding him to the roster
Pretty decent schedule. No terrible away games. Huge home games against Saints and Chiefs This is the year we get to 10 wins fellas. I can feel it in my plums
Im good with that. Would love if Hockenson slipped, but he won't so my first choice is Garret Bradbury ( caveat, I actually don't know if he is good, but assuming he is and the Titans think he is good then we need to upgrade at C)
Yes, hello I am a displaced Redskin fan who can't continue to support a Dan Snyder run organization. I've relocated to Tennessee a few years back and need an NFL home. I like Mike Vrabel. #TitanUp
don't want a clemson DL -- they often bust. don't want a TE. would love a trade back or a trade for clowney (or ramsey). realize intra-division trades wouldn't happen.
Would be happy with Burns or Sweat also wouldnt mind Marquez Brown just for the love of god stay the fuck away from Lock
Obviously a potential stud but yeah I feel like a bed person if I was happy with the pick Hopefully he becomes an awesome off the field guy here
I get having to mention it but that was pretty brutal to go in depth for 5 minutes immediately after he was drafted. Way overboard.
I’ve got a terrible feeling one win from the playoffs might be a high water mark for the next few seasons
That seems a tad melodramatic. Simmons is insanely good. Obviously the injury sucks and I would have preferred Sweat but Simmons has a crazy ceiling
It's a mid-first pick and we've been a playoff team two years straight. We could have used a OL, Edge, TE, or WR over a guy that most likely won't play this year.
Simmons is a beast. It’s completely disingenuous for espn to act like he fell in the draft due to the assault. If not for the torn acl, he goes top 10. He will be good to go midway through next year and be an all pro level player for his career. I’m good with it.
would have loved a guy who can reasonably be expected to make significant contributions this year you can't expect that out of a big dude who tore his ACL two months ago at least we didn't draft a TE though
Guy made a terrible mistake in high school but has had no issues since. We got a potential top 5 pick at 19 we just have to wait a while for him to hit the field. I can live with it Gonna be fun watching him and Casey together
i'm surprised at how negative people were about the pick. 1. you generally want to go BPA in the first round, especially for a team like the titans who have decent/good depth and talent but few outstanding players. they got a potential top 5 talent at 19. plus, impact DL are a need. 2. his off-the-field stuff sucks. that video was horrific (and tbh it doesn't even matter that it was a woman). but... he was in high school and the situation surrounding it (breaking up a fight with his family, a women who had routinely gotten into it with his family, his attitude and behavior since then) is a lot different than if he were just a routine domestic abuser. 3. the ACL injury is why he fell. and it sucks. but he should be able to return for late season action next year and that's when the season gets tough. imagine this dude really fresh ready for 50 snaps in the playoffs.
Seriously, all those WRs left on the board, the top C, multiple other needs, and we take Simmons...fuck...
there was a period of time where seriously caring about the Titans just wasn't worth it to me because they sucked so bad and cared so little about investing in a community that has bent over backwards for them every step of the way since they relocated but right now we have a really dang good ownership situation and I have developed a ton of respect for Amy Adams Strunk since she took over as controlling owner from her sister and brother-in-law. without her willingness to invest in the city (i.e., moving her personal home from Houston to Nashville), this organization would 100% still be a huge dumpster fire under her leadership, we made the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and won a playoff game for the first time since I believe 2003. She identified and hired a respected young GM and has proven she is willing to admit mistakes and fire bad head coaches if need be. We've had a nice uniform rebranding. She has committed to beefing up our marketing efforts and improving the game day experience , thanks in part to people she has hired away from the Predators (who set the industry standard). We remodeled our locker room, weight room, and meeting rooms at St Thomas Sports Park. Actually, in consecutive offseasons we made major renovations to the practice facilities this is about as good a time to be a Titans fan since the really early years when we only lost at home to the Ravens (). I am really looking forward to this year, and definitely to our trip to Oakland https://www.nashvillepost.com/sport...nce-again-arrive-to-updated-training-facility I would much much rather have this dude than a WR or some interior OL in the first round, especially given our track record drafting receivers Simmons is apparently a top five talent, one team telling Adam Schefter they thought he was the best player in the draft. So we got a hell of a talent and we should be very happy with that
All the scout talk about him being a top 5 talent in the draft is bullshit because we have no idea how he will rehab. I wonder if the exec that told Schefter he was the best player in the draft picked ahead of us? We took a guy in the 1st we will basically have to redshirt and our roster isn’t good enough for that. That being said I have faith in Jon Robinson and obviously hope that Simmons proves me wrong
Exactly how I feel. Having Casey and Simmons next year may be amazing, but we aren’t in a position to take a high-risk (ACL) player that will have to rehab for a year. No one knows what we’re getting.
Not taking a WR was the move. Top C was taken right before we picked. I dont think need and value lined up at all at 19 so they went with BPA ( at a position of need IMO), it just sucks we will have to wait a year. But I much prefer this than taking DK Metcalf or another WR who wouldn't make an impact this year.
Please post all of our draft picks under Jon Robinson and your thoughts on each pick. I'll hang up and listen.
I’m such an AJ fan that I’m kind of a Titans fan now. He’s going to be awesome. And y’all are fucking nuts to dog the Simmons pick. He’s an absolute monster.
Simmons, when healthy, is unblockable. He destroyed everyone UF put in front of him this year. Love him and Brown. Titan UP
I hope Robinson starts stockpiling picks down the road. We haven't allowed ourselves to really develop much depth the past two draft classes 4 picks last year and just 6 this year. That's consecutive years with very small classes, and this year one of the six can't be expected to contribute Need Mariota to be good and healthy this year
If any of yal dont post in the Nashville thread https://hatchshowprint.com/contentpages/pre-order-nfl-draft-posters
