I don’t know about RioVista CA but in every other jurisdiction with which I am familiar, the penalty for not paying one’s registration fees is not body slamming. Maybe it is where you’re from?
I’ve never been body slammed by a cop. I would be willing to bet most posters here could say the same. It’s really not that difficult of a thing to avoid.
I've already said the officer shouldn't have body slammed her. I'm not sure how you're using that as an excuse to resist arrest. But it's apparent you're not trying to be rational. Edit: Upon review, she wasn't even in the vehicle. Not sure how you're going to justify her even being involved in the police matter?
Dbl... Would you say the person that was body slammed had a stunning lack of “accountability” in this situation?
we post a lot of content ITT where it is arguable whether the officer should have waited longer or needed to shoot at all..... this one isn't close, but it won't get the press because the kid is alive.
Discussed? It’s actually being put in to action, there are something like 14 states arming or in the process of arming teachers.
I dunno, on the one hand, its really cool to arm large labor unions outside of law enforcement. On the other, the intent behind it is to more efficiently shoot kids who have guns instead of making kids' access to guns more difficult, and that sucks.
Definition of a power trip. Lost his mind that the guy didn't accept his bullshit. Also the cop resigned and is getting 70K severance.
It’s sad as fuck that all I kept thinking was “just put it down and sit down it’s not worth your life”.
Nothing he said is incorrect and nice edit because your original post shows how ignorant you are on this topic.
What edit? I would say a vast majority of people trained to use guns are very good at it. Just because unfortunate events happen and it’s gets news coverage doesn’t mean that isn’t the case.
You know the one where you claimed it will never happen despite the fact that several states have passed the necessary laws to do so. I can see why you would delete a statement that exposes how ignorant you are on the topic. Also a vast majority being good is a bullshit argument.
Not surprising at all. I feel confident in saying none of the officers were fired for that their behavior.
I loved the lady at the end that was hit by a cop who was stalking a police accountability rally in an unmarked car, then she found his car on their lot and then none of the cops would provide their name and badge # and refused to allow her to make a complaint and kept telling her it was private property. That entire video is so infuriating. All of those cops should be off the force and some serving time.
Love when the black people cops think they are going to fuck with know more about the laws than cops do. And they still do something dumb when the camera is rolling. Story here - https://www.theroot.com/cop-detains-innocent-black-man-answers-fuck-you-is-my-1835200506
Another example of police officers thinking the rules don't apply to them. Tow truck driver hooks up Altima wanted for repo. Turns out to be a police officer's car. Guy is surrounded by cops who tell him to unhook it, he refuses, they charge him with felony possession of stolen property and throw him in jail for 20 hrs. https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-borough...-nypd-officer-staten-island?cid=share_twitter Congrats NY residents on your tax dollars going to yet another future lawsuit.
I wonder what the pay would have to be to attract non-morons to being cops. Seems like it would be cheaper because of less lawsuits because cops are so fucking stupid.
I understand law enforcement pulling this bullshit (assuming facts are accurate) before mass media, video, etc but it’s crazy they still have the balls to make so many unlawful arrests. It is going on the internet and your agency is getting sued, so why bother? Problem is these dirty cop never get fired.
Exactly. Every single one of them involved should be fired. They won't though bc their superiors look after them just like they did for the cop losing his car. Gang mentality from top to bottom.
It's just amazing they're moving forward with charges. Seems like the DA would run from it as soon as they verified he was a licensed tow truck driver.
They need to change their hiring/training process. For example in LA you have the LAPD and LA County deputies, the problematic department is the LAPD while the LA County sheriff deputies have a good reputation locally and are unknown nationally, people attribute this to the fact that sheriff deputies must work in other areas, such as prisons, for 2 years before they patrol the streets.
It's system that bucks against that kind of pushback. Ive become pretty good friends w a guy who is an ex chicago policeman. He's a black guy that grew up in a bad neighborhood, went to college, majored in criminal justice, became a Chicago cop, all in an attempt to give back to the community, make it better ect. He washed out in 3 years. Said they just make your life hell if you give any kind of pushback against 'how things are done" . If you raise any concerns it's immediate dismissed as naive ect. I told him it was pretty fucking disheartening to hear that. He said "try living through it. "
Exactly, locking up young men, mostly black and brown, results in people getting re-elected and tends to make lucrative careers for those who are in charge. For example, the prosecutor in the Central Park 5 case and Jeanine Pirro.
This one looks like a tough one for the NYPD. They arrested three of her attackers but she refused to positively identify them. That’s going to be a tough charge to sell in court. Also I can understand the hesitancy to charge a group of African American teens with a hate crime. That’s not a good look in today’s climate.
Uh, L.A County deputies have a shit reputation locally and are just as bad if not worse than the LAPD. We have a huge problem with deputies cliquing up. Back in the 90's we had actual neo nazi sherrif deputy gangs terrorizing communities. LASD claims they've gotten rid of the deputy gangs, but they haven't done any sort of oversight investigation into the problem since '92 really.
