lots of stuttering since the last windows update. i reverted back but it didnt help anything. cant find any drivers out of date. its happening outside of games too. thoughts?
I didn’t like Dead Cells but really like Hades. The writing is really good and there’s a progression system that persists between dungeon runs so you aren’t starting from square zero every single time. Eventually you’ll unlock like 6 weapons to choose from for each run so there’s some player agency there too.
SuperGiant makes a great game, this is their first rogue-like but I would have faith in them. I got Hades a few months back but haven't gotten around to playing it yet
Finally ordered a 3090. Got the ASUS TUF. Not the best looking one, but it seems to be one of the better ones. Should be shipping from amazon October 11th, and I wouldn’t mind returning or reselling at cost to get another card (ROG Strix or FTW Ultra). I’m just glad to have a guaranteed card before cyberpunk 2077 comes out.
Think I’m going to play it by ear now with the 3080. I’m content at 1440p for the foreseeable future until 4K can be done “easily” at FPS over 100. When I start having issues keeping my FPS up at 1440p I’ll feel the pull a bit more...maybe by then I can just pull up a site and order an FTW like I want to.
The 3090 is over-kill at this point. Want to take advantage of it you're gonna need a badass monitor, too.
3080 is gonna be your best bang for the buck but I would even then wait for the next series of Intel chipsets to come out. You’re going to be bottlenecked much faster with your CPU than you will that card if not. It’s the largest leap in GPU output since like like GTX 280. The 3090 is just mad. If you’re not a streamer or content creator with a dope rig pushing frames and quality on AAA titles, it’s worth just waiting especially if you’re in the 2080 Super or TI family.
I’m using a 1080ti. Monitor and TV both do 1440p120 and I’ve been fine there with high settings, but I know time is running out on that card sustaining it. Cyberpunk will likely be the first game that pushes me.
I’m running a 1080ti as well, so is rust! I’d be happy to go with the 3080 as well, but I’m a weak man, and I bought whatever non-scalped GPU I could that was either MSI, EVGA, or ASUS.
I’d be lying if I said the thought hadn’t crossed my mind to search for 90s while I was after an 80, but with a PS5 (hopefully) secured and a baby on the way in December, I figured I won’t get much use out of it for a bit anyway and would rather not try to explain that purchase to the wife.
Dude, congrats. I guess we haven’t spoken in a while, but I’m happy for you guys. I hear the name Gustavo is a great name for boys. Gustava for girls. Just something to keep in mind
Damn, really wanted to play Baldur’s Gate 3 today, but Steam has it as Early Access and that only goes to Act 1 out of 3 or 4 Acts. I don’t support EA games at all, let alone at full price. The disclaimer said it could be in Early Access for at least a year. That’s a no for me, dawg.
I have been playing Crusader Kings III a good bit lately. I'm absolutely terrible, I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's a lot of fun.
early access is a great thing, mass beta testing is very useful. its not like you would have to pay again to play the full release. i can understand wanting to wait if the company is unreliable but larian is one of the best in the industry.
Finally upgrading my ancient i3 processor w/ an AMD 3600x that I got on sale today. Feel like I'm in a good spot until I decide to get a 4k monitor.
Do it! I have been 1440p for years, but jus made the jump to 4k at 125% scaling and it's so sharp. I went with Dell Ultrasharp U2720Q at about $450 w/ $100 GC and some CC perks that took it lower than that.
it is a 4k60 panel, so I leave at that. My other monitor is 1440p144hz w/Gsync, and I can get 60 min and even 90+ fps with high/max settings in most circumstances. I have a 1070 fwiw.
Anybody play Destiny 2? Been on Xbox since Destiny first game out but just switched to PC and need a group. Haven’t played since Forsaken but Beyond Light has me hyped to play again.
My 3090 came in yesterday and I’m looking forward to plopping it in and waiting for the AMD 5000 series to come out. Can’t wait to play minesweeper!
Linus got 2 to run in SLI and he couldn’t load Shadow of the tomb raider without it turning the PC off with a 1000w PSU. He had to up it to 1600W which is ridiculous.
Goodness, that sounds beautiful. Hopefully my 1000W psu will be fine. Not doing any over clocking just yet, not until I get the new CPU, but I look forward to not having to mess with the computer too much after that. Just gotta be ready for that sweet sweet CP2077
I’m officially thinking of joining the master race. I’m looking at the Aurora R11. I need to be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 on this bad boy. Any recommendations or suggestions for cheaper options or if I should build one?
If you can build yourself, it's cheaper. I see the R11 is customizable; what were you thinking? What's your budget?
yeah my cpu is def hitting 90-100 C during gaming. which took me literal months to figure out because the problems started immediately after an update. turns out the fans on it werent working so i replaced them. no change. put new thermal paste on there. now idle temps arent in the 70s but gaming temps are still the same. ordered a new cooler. its possible the current one isnt getting enough power. if this doesnt work im going to say fuck it and buy new everything.
i'll browse through their site to see which, if any, prebuilts stand out. additionally, they make fantastic monitors.
I use a Dell monitor and it's really nice. Think I might need to adjust my whites cause it's kinda hard to read the-mainboard.com But gaming on it is outstanding.
amd cpus are but they have so few builds with those and those builds all come with an amd gpu so meh, plus its the $2200 one. looking through the intels now.
Irush i think this is probably the best you can do from dell at your quotes price point https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/gam...rationid=c06ac189-9945-4bc5-9352-b714a36d04aa alienware is less bang for your buck because of branding
I was able to bump my budget to about 1800 is there a big difference between the G series and Alienware?
I should probably point out that I play a lot of strategy games like Total War and Crusader Kings mainly but will need something that can run cyberpunk and will only require an upgrade on GPU for when the next elder scrolls is out
