In the downtown/southside area, STIR is good, as is Public House. Alleia is great. On the Northshore, Primo and Tremont Tavern are the favorites. I have a soft spot for the Boathouse on the river, too. I ate at Bridgeman's a few weeks ago for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.
Yes. There are a lot of places. Depends on the weather and whether or not you want food. A lot of places have enclosed decks/patios for the winter which I am not sure is any better than being indoors.
Wanderlinger plug incoming State of confusion has a great outdoor space but that's it as far as that place goes Naked river prob has best outdoor space for a brewery Basecamp is a cool spot if not freezing.....welp forecast calls for snow so prob not that
Outside of the few mentioned already, Hair of the Dog has a heated deck and a good beer selection, however they are also one of the few remaining smoking bars in town. The new Heaven & Ale (local brewery) spot on Main St. has an outdoor area as well. Also, there is a relatively new distillery in the Choo Choo called Gate 11 that makes some pretty good liquor and mixed drinks, and with Station Street being open container you can get them and wander around or chill at some of the outside tables they have set up.
Never been to the actual restaurant but had one from their truck at the market. Good hotdogs but not life changing
Stir and Rembrandt’s Coffee House are go to when visiting Chattanooga. Stir has a spicy tuna sandwich with a sriracha infused runny egg, and the same oysters that get sent to Nashville, but cheaper Rembrandt’s has the best eclair I’ve ever had in my life. If visiting it’s the Bluff View Inn or an Airbnb near Point Park/Lookout Mountain. this town is so much cheaper and way nicer than Nashville
Is anyone interested in 2 CFC tickets for tomorrow afternoon? I feel like shit today and doubt I will go. 1 adult and 1 child ticket but I bet they won't check if 2 adults go. Paid $20 and can email.
Ate at 1885 last night for the first time in a long time. Mine was just ok but wife's meal was good. Went to Sidetracks after for dessert. Their tres leches is our favorite.
I haven’t eaten at Il Primo in a minute. My wife loved the rigatoni and I loved the pork shoulder. I checked the menu and looks like the pork shoulder is no longer served?
Saw a friend today(has bartended all over Downtown) thatv is running Zaya's bar program. Said they had 85 reservations Sunday night so thats good. He said the food is great and you get a good bit for the seemingly high $.
Going to be in town for a quick work meeting tomorrow around lunch time in Eastridge. Anywhere good to grab lunch around there? I’ll also be headed back west on the way out of town, so can hit downtown, etc.
My go to would be hitting the Pickle Barrel for some fried pickles and a Reuben. Aint that right BIGASSTITTIES ?
Hard to beat. Throw in some nice seasoned tots and you got a storm brewing. There’s a nice Thai place just north of I-24 (more brainerd than east ridge but close enough) before the split called Sweet Basil that the wife and I really love. It’s authentic and great people.
Pickle Tavern is apparently not open for weekday lunches for the time being. So, just saw down at the bar at Tremont Tavern
Lunchtime weather should be grea Food is good. Employee turnover the past year has sucked. Hope you enjoyed. I grew up a 30 sec walk from there and live 5 minute drive so there a ton.
Wywan Bwowna are you still there after 8 hours? Thinking about picking up dinner from Tremont and would love for you to buy me a beer.
Ha nope, made it back to Nashville this afternoon. Burger and tots were pretty damn good. Appreciate the recommendations by this thread.
Low-key one of the coolest things about this board. You know you can a solid review on stuff to do in a foreign city.
Going up Thursday afternoon to take my kid in the train. Want a good dinner that's not super fancy. I see you guys talking about il primo. I love Italian, is that the move?
Yes, it's very casual. I assume you're staying downtown so will be going to the one in North Chattanooga and not the one in Ooltewah, right?
