Smith turned it on in the playoffs and Brady gets rid of the ball quickly. Jameis has/had a really bad tendency of holding onto the ball too long and extend plays because he got away with it in college. Really, the offensive line or Jameis being at fault becomes the chicken or the egg argument. I fully expect Donovan Smith to not live up to the full value of his contract, but it was worth it considering last season’s result.
maybe protecting the blindside of Brady is a bit less stressful because you know he doesn't want to leave the box, when Jameis could be a coin flip every play But I agree, I'm sure Smith won't live up to his contract.
It seemed like Brady started calling more of the offense towards the end of the year and we had fewer slow developing plays downfield which took some pressure off of Smith Wirfs was awesome, still can't believe he fell to us
Yea, ever since the loss and we had the Bye things changed in November with him calling plays it seemed like
Not sure I agree about the slower developing plays. I think the biggest change once Brady had more influence was committing to the run game and allowing it to open up play action. They ran significantly more play action after their bye week, but it was definitely a hybrid of Brady’s New England offense with hints of Arians’ aggressiveness. It also helps when you have a stacked receiving corps. I’ll give Smith credit because he wasn’t a liability like he was for the rest of his career. Shit, he did incredibly well against Chase Young.
Smith was fucking trash when Winston was there when I watched. Brady certainly helped since his pocked presence is without peer and he isn't a wildcard to try and run like Winston, which certainly makes it easier to block. Also allowing the TE to chip more on Smith's side since Wirfs is the second coming of Willie Roaf helps too. Smith didn't suck because of just Winston, but Brady and Wirfs sure made it easier for him to take a big leap. 2020 was just the perfect storm for the Bucs. Must be nice to have good things happen to your team
I can assure you no one gives a shit about that. Glad that was y’alls super bowl though. Great brand identity to be happy about just being there.
I was there, partied with some Oregon friends, got sad with the loss, couldn't find my car at the rose bowl... good times.
Speaking of brands I just realized you and Nizz share a common fanbase; still doesn’t explain why Nizz seeks your approval so much. But congrats to #Colorado State Rams on their growing fanbase.
Go back to your safe space where you all think you're right. But, sure, yea I NEED corch's approval in life. Go Rammies
I mean, it beats getting drunk or getting fat. At least he’s willing to put in some work. He should try dodging brooms though, I hear that’s a great QB drill
