this is a bad take. he has a serious, legitimate mental illness and, much to your chagrin, also struggles with it. he does himself no favors by taking it so half-assedly and no, not every action is a result of his bipolar disorder but you can't just act like it's not an enormous part of the problem (which again, he exacerbates by staying untreated). this also just somehow presumes every other person on the planet with a mental illness but Kanye is an angel. I feel like there's millions of people your post would just as easily apply to which makes me wonder why you'd bother posting it when it's such a sweeping generalization of a post.
Dozens! And we like Good Pussy & we like Good Trees. Smoke so much you wouldn't believe & we get more ass than a toilet...
This battle is like me vs my own fucking immune system. Like yo, fucking stop! Both of us, but nah...it has to be to the death! And the shit is awesome. Fuck, I love it. And Fuck anyone who wants to take away my pre-existing coverage so some rich fucks can get even richer? Wait...what thread is this? Fuck it, whatever...
Going from the coach to top of the world in 10 seconds must fuck with your noodle as well. I hate rejection like everyone else, and I'm just an average asshole.
Netflix documentary ep 1 is up Seen "jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy" on Netflix yet? https://www.netflix.com/us/title/81426972?s=a&trkid=13747225&t=dsms&vlang=en&clip=81577092
Honestly watching the first episode it makes you wish you didn’t know how shitty he turned out over the last five years because it actually makes you want to root for him to succeed
Pretty incredible that Coodie started filming this in 1998 when Kanye was just a local Chicago kid and his subject ended up being one of the biggest stars in the world.
Can't decide if it was genius or just super narcissistic of him to have a camera following him daily when he was just a producer. But I appreciate the content.
I stayed up late watching it and have it on in the background now. Like am16401 said, it's really hard to watch this and not root for him. He's just a young kid busting his ass trying to make something of himself. I still can't get over that this film exists. I mean he was rapping All Falls Down to the freaking receptionist trying to get a rap deal and got interrupted by another lady just coming to to his the assistant and say hi. He had access to the building bc of his producing but was just brushed aside as a rapper. Just wild being able to see all of the behind the scenes stuff before he was Kanye. Whole thing is just incredible.
the first part was excellent I fear when some of the more current stuff comes in i'll want to tune out, but the early early days are definitely cool to see
I can't even imagine what was going through people head like Jay, Dame, Face, etc when they saw he had a full time camera man doing a doc on him. He's like a real life Sandy Lyle
Yea one day it's whatever and passed off "yea he's just doing a documentary" but after every day for years before he got a deal they had to be like wtf.
They all knew he was a weirdo and probably just tolerated that stuff because he made them all dope beats
Jay Z Dre Snoop Kendrick Chance Drake Cole I'm sure the list goes on but that's who I thought of. All of those guys seem pretty chill imo. Kanye is really the outlier for older rappers. The young kids that are on non-weed drugs all the time are filled with drama but the older guys are chill.
Especially with the retainers. He was super casual about them but you know he’d be incredibly self conscious about them now
Was thinking about starting the documentary with the expectation I’ll stop watching once it gets to about 2005 lol Would be interested in the behind the scenes aspects of the first two albums, and his production back in the early/mid 00s.
It's probably hard to gauge bc the genre in late 90s/early 2000s wasn't really kanye's style but it seems crazy to me to be listening to jesus walks or all falls down and not immediately signing him
How so? Genuinely curious. I don't follow these guys like I did when I was young. He seems normal in interviews but that's all I know.
He’s weird in that same evil genius way that Kanye is. He’s not a dick or anything but he’s certainly reclusive and a bit nerdy. I could give a fuck tho weird me daddy forever because you gave me To Pimp A Butterfly
Andre 3000 is weird but lovable KDot is weird but low key and mysterious Kanye is just fucking maniacal and unstable
Ok this doc is insane…the moments they captured on camera Coodie is the man for shooting all this footage
Part 1 was awesome. When he’s rapping with Mos Def and the whole room is stunned had me tingling. God damn he was incredible.
Only 30ish minutes in but his drive to be great is (was) so fucking great. I also forgot how many people paid him for his beats. Guy truly is a creative genius
Donda 2 only dropping in his platform, so I guess I’m not going to listen. I sure hope Pusha doesn’t do the same.
