Imagine it’s the same shit they did with releasing stuff on Tidal first. Too much money lost not releasing it on all platforms.
I liked Donda but no way would I spend $200 on a music player for it. The fuck I care about mixing vocals and that stuff?
Look, I isolated the vocals (after a 3 second delay)! Cool, now stop messing with it so we can listen to the actual song
Finally watched the first 2 episodes of the documentary and I’m glad I did. So much nostalgia from that era and it was cool seeing some of those songs from College Dropout come together. A couple times I kept thinking I’d seen that footage before then I remembered it was in the “Through The Wire” video. I also remember back then having a similar reaction as Pharrell when I realized that song was recorded with his jaw wired shut.
Also, don’t get me wrong the dude has completely lost his mind but seeing how much people doubted him and he actually had to convince them to let him rap, I guess I can kind of see why he’s got a little “fuck you all” in him
Enjoyed part 2 a lot. Seeing the reactions of people hearing College Dropout before it was released was awesome. My biggest takeaway from the first 2 is that early 2000s was the best clothes era. Everything was loose and comfy. His Polo sweater game was elite.
That era of clothing has ruined me forever I think. As someone who’s always been a little on the husky side, I just hate tight fitting clothes and back then I could “get away” with wearing a random jersey or hoodie that was XXL and way too big. (Probably using get away with loosely since I was a weird white kid from Nebraska). If I’m just lounging around the house I’ll wear a baggy old hoodie or super loose baggy sweatpants and my GF absolutely hates it lol One of the hoodies has to be from when I was like 14 years old and it’s all worn down. I was wearing it during the Super Bowl and told her that I was probably wearing the same hoodie when all the songs being performed came out.
Also when this song randomly came on when they were in the studio, I got so hyped. Forgot all about it, but instantly remembered hearing it for the first time back then and being so impressed by the beat and Kanye’s verse. Think it was just a random song I found on LimeWire or something back then. “We are the champ-i-ons, spend a lot of time in Hamp-ti-ons, do a lot of beats you can’t be on..”
I have a pair of baggy Abercrombie sweatpants that are 20 yrs old that I still wear constantly. They’re not quite JNCO wide but definitely wider that any sweatpants leg should be. I still wear them constantly.
I actually bought the black Yzy Gap hoodie and it’s really nice. It’s double layered so the inside is the same material as the outside and the hood is gigantic.
My dumbass just figured out the right words to Slow Jamz last night "She said she want some Marvin Gaye, some Luther Vandross, a little Aaliyah Anita would definitely set this party off right..."
3rd ep wasn’t nearly as good. Mostly because he didn’t have access to Kanye for like 6 years. During the first 2 eps, I was wondering if he was able to film during his downfall. He really wasn’t .
Sounds like ep 3 may undo it, but this doc has made me like him all over again. It’s easy to forget about supporting trump etc when you see where he started again
Yea ep 3 is a refresher on why I don't like him. There's a large gap of time missing. Don't want to spoil it but he's just completely different when they link back up.
"You know, I laid in that hospital bed for seven days, and I became determined to become the best.... ......dressed rapper of all time."
I've only watched one episode but it's definitely brought back the vibe that initially drew me to him, got chills seeing/hearing the hunger/frustration manifest itself in his delivery during that backstage two words clip
If you want to listen to donda 2 just go here and click buy stem player and use this login [email protected] https://www.stemplayer.com/
You mean Kim broke him. It doesn’t matter who she was with he would be acting this way remember his beef with Drake because he thought he was the one she was sleeping with. Turns out it was a chain smoking comedy that was piping her.
he's regressed so much as a rapper. these sound almost some fusion of trance and hip hop. having said that, i enjoy what i've heard through the first five songs more than i did for anything on donda or ye. and i never listened to jesus is king so probably that one, too. i'm excited to hear what some mixtape rapper does with the beats and sounds.
I watched the first two episodes on my flight last night. What a great watch, the song building, etc was incredible. I kind of just want to stop there and ignore ep. 3. I can absolutely see where his mom passing destroyed him as a person, she was willing to talk sense into him in his terms. We would not have had all the MAGA shit etc. if she were around imo and we’d have a slightly different opinion of him now.
