Because the women he assaulted don't want to go through months of public testimony and hearings, get called whores and gold diggers by Watson's lawyers, and have people like you disgusted with them for the rest of their lives just for him to be probably not be found guilty because he's a rich athlete who will pay top dollar for the best lawyers?
Right. Which could be a reason so many women are coming forward. An opportunity to make money. And the more people the Attorney gets involved, the more he makes.
Why would he settle if he was innocent? You would think he would want justice and then counter sue for defamation
But that ignores that this doesn't happen to 99% of athletes or why the NFL would willingly suspend him if he had done nothing and all these women would have to be liars... there's nothing that tells you "something isn't right about this"????
Not once in my life have I been accused of anything inappropriate. I’m going to assume that’s the case for you too. As gross as it is to write I could see one or two misunderstandings or straight out lies. But, 60 plus? Are you willing to say 60 plus women lied? I don’t know if another pro athlete that has been accused of sexual assault by 60 women. You might never know what actually occurred so is there a number that would make you think “well shit maybe he is a POS”? At this point it seems like you are willing to ignore the shit so you don’t feel bad for rooting for the Browns.
Let me establish first that I think he’s sexual predator and doesn’t deserve to be in the league let alone getting the contract and guaranteed money that he is. Don’t want any confusion that I’m defending him. Because I’m absolutely not. But regardless of opinion, your questions all have basic/common sense answers. 1. Because they haven’t interacted with dozens of athletes. They all have, however, been alone in a private room with one specific athlete, Deshaun Watson. 2. Rhetorical? Because he’s a sexual predator. 3. Through the lawyer and his team. That’s their job. Whether it’s to prove their individual client’s case to win a single judgement (or to extort millions from a mega-rich athlete) they would contact other women to find out information to support/build their case against the defendant.
duke didn't start posting in this thread until the Browns were a player for his services. I really have a hard time understanding how people are so incurious about what drives them to do the things they do... and that's the most favorable read about what duke is doing here, that he's dumb.
Falcons suck but your franchise is in the news every day for shit. Snyder is ducking congress, harassing everyone with a vagina, and hiding money, your DC was probably at the capitol on Jan 6th, your stadium is literally falling apart, etc. Glass houses my guy
You know there are hundreds of incredibly rich NFL players these women could target if they were just making it all up? But weirdly they all picked the same one. What incredibly bad luck this man has!
Dude voted for Donald Trump, so his track record pretty clearly indicates that he just doesn’t care about women being sexually assaulted, as long as it’s by somebody he thinks will provide him personal benefit. This thread just drives the point home.
It's not glass houses when I admit Snyder is terrible and a piece of shut. Not sure why ur so triggered.
If you think this is dumb, you should see the Conceal Carry argument he made in the Ohio State thread this week. Guy thinks he is Jack Bauer
And, there are a ton of other multimillionaires in the NFL who haven't been accused of this. Why just pick on Deshaun Watson?
I’m just glad my favorite franchise is owned by unproblematic king Jerry Jones so I don’t have any moral dilemmas while watching football
Plus, Tony Buzbee has a fuckton more money than Deshaun Watson. He wouldn't orchestrate a mass conspiracy of lying masseuses to make what amounts to an insignificant amount of money to him and risk his entire career and law license.
A number of which made more money annually than Watson before this new contract. Where are their accusers????
That I'd prefer to have my gun on me as opposed to not have my gun on me in the event of a public shooting taking place. It was wild.
Have you ever been shot at and had to return fire? It’s wild because the likelihood of you or anyone for that matter doing anything is so minuscule. We all want to pretend wed be heros and would save the day but that isn’t what actually happens. Imagine a scenario where a 100 dukes have a gun and start firing indiscriminately at every and anyone they see with a gun. Moreover idk if you watched the Buffalo shooting video but if you have you’d understand you wouldn’t stand a chance if you were in that situation. It’s extremely wild because what you envision isn’t what would occurred it’s probably the exact opposite.
I’m actually trying to have a conversation with you and not call you names. Have you ever been in a “gun fight”? Have you ever been shot at? Shot? Had to shoot at someone? If you haven’t it’s difficult to imagine what you’d do in those situations.
No, I have never been in a gun fight nor have I ever had to shoot at someone. I'm not trying to be some Jason Bourne person. I'm just saying that as these shootings become more and more prevalent, I'd prefer to keep my gun on me as opposed to not having one on me.
I get why that seems like it would be better but what I’m trying to do is show you why that’s a recipe for disaster. Say there are 10-15 other guys who have guns on them and hear gun shots. Now say they are not scared shitless and actually pull their guns. What is going to happen is that because of the mass confusion with everyone else running those 10-15 guys aren’t going to know who the gunman was and will just start shooting. Then when one of those “good guys with a gun” aims his gun at you, you’re either going to get killed or kill someone accidentally. Now I don’t know know what the best solution is I just know introducing more guns isn’t the answer.
so in your mind its reasonable that you need to be strapped at all time in case an OK Corral style gunfight were to breakout but 60+ credible accusations of sexual assault warrants a healthy dose of skepticism?
i wonder Factoring in unreported rapes, only about 6% of rapists ever serve a day in jail. If a rape is reported, there is a 50.8% chance of an arrest. If an arrest is made, there is an 80% chance of prosecution. If there is a prosecution, there is a 58% chance of conviction.
I certainly understand your position and don't disagree with you. In fact, I'm sure my first instinct is going to be to run away as fast as possible.
