Maybe he think twss is meant to be a misogynistic joke and he’s knocking Jeffries for being a Pelosi puppet? Like oh you’re owned because those are really Nancy’s words? That’s the best I can do.
Could we get an deepfake of The Office with musk as Michael Scott. I mean thinking about it right now and the parallels are pretty stunning. Maybe Elon just didn’t get that everyone was laughing at Mike?
I'm not going to claim to know everything about him or what skeletons are in his closet, but he seems to be one of the realest ones out there
He is by far the best MSM news/personality out there. I keep waiting for the day where he'll make an irredeemable take or something. So far it hasnt come.
1. Buy twitter because I created in my own mind an association between the verification check and elitism, which hurts my feelings. 2. Make it so that anyone can buy the verification check, unintentionally changing it into a symbol of Elon worship 3. Now actually, uh, you can hide your blue check even though that shit was the main thing that snowflake reactionaries whined about in the first place
"Hehe we're taking over the blue checkmark." *3 months later* "Will you please hide my blue checkmark"
I’m glad the crybabies who couldn’t get verified ruined a good feature. I’m sure this won’t create any unforeseen issues of disinformation being spread.
I mean Comon man you Chris hayes is 100% terminally online like many of us. I assume most journos are at this point
Plus journos being terminally online as far as twitter -sure. The thought of Hayes having an anonymous acct on a Knicks message board or something and knowing common message board quirks is hilarious.
Is this Colin Rugg doofus that keeps being shoved down my throat only popular for fellating elno online?
So we've gone from people paying a $10 / month (or whatever it is) to show the world that they're willing to suck off a billionaire to people paying $10 / month just to pay $10 / month because they're ashamed that they're willing to suck off a billionaire. Like, I pay for too many streaming services, but at least I get to watch my football club flame out in hilarious fashion every year *plus* Murder She Wrote and 1950s Perry Mason at 1:30 AM if I so choose. That may not be worth $10 / mo but at least it's something.
I think the benefit is you get preferential tweets that more people see. And people were catching onto the fact that shitty tweets were being pumped to them because these idiots paid. Hiding the blue check will help them get noticed and not be called out....but the internet never forgets.
I think some of the schadenfreude obscures the fact that Elon has successfully destroyed the original purpose of the blue check - to give the public some general idea of who is who on the site, and to a lesser extent, who you could "trust" when following breaking news or important topics. Some of the benefits of a paid subscription are worthwhile, but mixing that up with the "this is actually who this person claims to be" accountability aspect of twitter was always a dumb idea. And predictably, it made twitter a worse product for the general population, and a better site for grifters and scammed who benefit from the confusion.
The thing I like best about 1950s Perry Mason is you would think LA would have gotten a new prosecutor by season 2 after he lost 35 cases in a row in season 1.
Sooo when’s the hearing or does this not matter since Zuck isn’t throwing millions at Congress for this?
