I’ve played one mini season, all the conquests, all the showdowns, and I’m almost done with a second mini season. I did play several play vs cpu games, too. I’m done with all the henchmen and all the captain missions that I’ve unlocked. Which I think is all except Wainwright in the NLc. I’m still not totally finished with TA. It’s a lot. I’ve only finished the ALe, and the other 5 divisions are anywhere from 76% to 95% finished.
From my understanding, a season is about 2 months long. Cant use set 1 cards in season 3 with exception to one card (wild card). So we got like 3 more months with set 1 cards which isnt terrible. I usually lose interest in this game by end of the summer anyway.
Yea but I'll get out of set 1 and into set 2 bc set 2 will last longer. Depends on the cards, obviously. I like my lineup right now, outside of catcher (Salvy). Only pitcher I like is a lot is Sasaki though.

Oh forgot about Ohtani. He's my DH. I sometimes forget he's down there bc he's listed as my 6th SP. Right now I'm using Sasaki, Yu, Gibson, Lopez, and Nestor and then Ohtani wish I remember he's there. But I've been using openers a lot and then going from there. I need to add a lefty SP for guys that have stacked LH hitting lineups.

Fun ass game. He worked a 13 pitch walk in the 5th to load the bases so of course the next guy it a grand slam. Can't remember who he started but went to Sandy in the 2nd and he was dealing. I got a weak lead off single in the the 7th and he pulled him for Hader. Hit, walk to load the bases, then Salvy his a grand slam of my own to take the lead. Gagne is filthy. 102 fastball, 82 change up, 68 curveball. It's cap level stuff.
IDK how many times I've seen the statement of when you lose your Set 1 players be off by multiple weeks on the internet since the game came out, but they said in one of the streams that Season 2 is 6 weeks long and we've still got almost a month of Season 1... You've got like 3 months from now until Set 1 isn't usable.
I do get the whole "by the time I actually complete 140 set 1 I may only have 6-8 weeks left to use them" but I doubt the Set 2 collections will be any easier. Majority of my lineup I love at the moment with Devers, Soto, Acuna, Turner, Chip, and Lindor. When Set 2 comes out I'll probably just look for guys to replace the guys in my lineup that I'm not crazy about and then hopefully collect enough organically without purposefully grinding that when Season 3 gets here its an easy transition. But work is normally slow as hell for me in June-July so it won't be hard to do that WFH breaks grind for ~10 days to get the next set to 140.
Having a lot of fun right now, and the Egg thing had me do some things I normally wouldn't have like BR. The content overload is a bit much this year, but it's been a great game so far for Casuals.
Agree. Having live collection and set 1 collection is a but much but there's always something to do on the game. I normally put it off and play ranked but I did do the Topps now missions today.
Co-Op ranked still glitches whenever someone subs in Ohtani at DH after a game starts. And every douche loser out there still tries to do it even though they're well aware that it happens.
Do they get a W for that? Or is it a freeze? Idk how it works in ranked. He's my DH and I can choose him as a SP before the game starts but he's not available to sub in as a pitcher once the game starts. Not a huge deal, I just can't use an opener and then go to him. He has to start to use him.
Last night after 25 minutes it booted Trofie and he got the L and me + VictorJG finished the game and won. Don’t know if all 3 of them were still playing or if any got booted as well. second one we went to bed and left our games on and woke up with the L
Only have done the WBC conquest so far but it seems to take way longer and for whatever reason I’m having way less success simming.
At this point I probably have 20 losses in coop and I think 3 of them are actual losses. Shit is annoying. You got people intentionally freezing when they are losing.
Damn there’s a mercy rule in ranked? Just played my first game this year and faced the worst dude ever maybe. Won 13-1 after 3.5 innings. The only run he scored was because he bunted and I threw it into RF then he scored on a grounder later on. My pitcher went 4IP, 12 Ks lol
Idk if I like it or not, but they definitely improved the AI for the 3b in a shift vs a bunt. Even with a 99 speed lefty batter, a drag bunt to 3b with the 3b playing SS doesn't equal a hit very often. The 3b damn near teleports to the perfect location to field the bunt. So you can comfortably leave your infield in a shift at all times bc a bunt doesn't do much this year.
chipper fields way above his attributes over at 3rd and in this circumstance particularly. he's also ~9/9 for me on stealing 2nd.
Yea I don't think this is player specific. Seems like they wanted to address it and they did. Bunting to 2b is still broken for high speed guys though.
Need a freeze off ettiquite ruling. BR game 4th inning I'm up 3-0 going into the bottom of the 4th. Game froze in the middle of the inning. Should opponent quit because I'm up 3-0 or is it a true freeze off because he's about to have a runner on 2nd and no outs? I really don't care either way, but now I'm curious what the correct protocol is. Don't play online much so I'm lost here.
Are you going to win 12 games? If not, fuck it imo. But overall I'd say you should get the W. Even if he hit a bomb next pitch he's still down.
There's so much BS in this game with online stuff, which is really one of the only reasons I don't play online much. I don't get a ton of time, and I'm sure not going to spend it in some text fight with a 13 year old about who's gonna quit first.
I've never waited out a freeze-off prior to this year and only because of the cool-down bullshit in co-op mode. literally any other mode, including 1v1 ranked, if it's earlier than midnight and I wasn't planning on it being my last game before bed, I'll just quit and move on.
I haven't had any issues with freezes this year. Seems like they still happen but not as much as last year. They need to either fix them from not happening at all or at least make it just end the game for both and neither get a W or L. There has to be a way for the game to know it's happened and just end it.

I have my messages on silent. Always great when I stumble into my messages months later. I will say 10% are just good dudes saying nice game, nice play, etc...... LOL, the other 90% get reported. I'm not even good at this game. Could not imagine someone who was WS level good. People are insane.
Once they fix the freeze offs or remove the cool down timer I'm game. At this point I'm getting to play an average of 1.5 coop games per night
I just set it to where only people on my friends list can message me. I'm not trying to go back and forth over a video game.
I think it was Covid year when I turned mine off. Used to be brutal with the people asking for shit like. Every game was a pause, then the message. "Let me get a hit with Mookie and I will quit." Didn't matter what mode I played in, it was non stop. Also people would get furious if you didn't respond. But yeah, friends just text me.
Oh yea I remember that. I don't even remember what it was for, maybe missions? They just wanted a HR with a certain player and then they'd quit lol
In thinking about it, I think they made some missions offline but there was a piece of every program that was online. You needed at least one of the online missions to complete the program. One that I definitely remember was some bullshit Honus Wagner mission. It was like 3 homers with him and he had 22/23 power L/R. He was in my lineup for so fucking long. I cranked one over the wall in left field in Forbes first game. It was quite some time until I was able to hit two in the parks with him.
I think it was for the programs. Instead of now how it’s like 0/700 XP with (insert player). It was like get 10 hits with a gold player, steal 5 bases in online games, get 15 Ks with a RP, etc.
It was for innings and any extra shit as well. Jackie, player programs, Monthly, etc...... I went back and reread some of the thread for nostalgia today. Peak Covid, I enjoyed the game then. Still do, just saying for vast majority of my time I didn't have anything to do for work. It was perfect.
