Just booked a flight on Thursday night and return on Saturday so I’ll be there for the first round. So anybody else in Spokane let me know
St John's (25) Wake (31) Nova (35) Cincy (37) Pitt (40) OU (43) IN St (45) Ohio St (47) Utah (50) top-50 teams at KenPom not in the field
UVA (69) So Car (49) Utah St (48) Northwestern (46) A&M (44) Wazzu (42) FAU (41) Boise (39) CSU (38) Nevada (36) as far as I can tell, most of the good wins piled up by MWC teams came against league foes....
SDSU beat St Mary’s and Gonzaga. Boise beat St Mary’s CSU beat Colorado and Creighton New Mexico didn’t beat anyone of note Utah State didn’t beat anyone of note
Teams for me that could lose to anyone or beat anyone any given night, Bama and Illinois. Wild variance teams that are super efficient offensively and bad defensively. Kansas to me seems like they are going through the motions for the last month compared to teams of the past and will be a fade for me. Have heard Dusty May has been checked out for a month or so and has his eyes set on LVille. They will be a fade. I wanted to run to the books to fade MSU and Wisconsin until they both have had a bit of a resurgence of late. Will be fading the whole big ten, though.
Also, I had a “bookie” who ran these betting sheets, more like cards you’d circle numbers at the bottom of the card that corresponded with the team. It was perforated and tear away. You’d initial it and put $ down you were betting. Minimum 4 team parlay. I can still remember the payouts.
I almost bought some a few weeks ago in case Nebraska played in Omaha…looking at the prices now, I might have made a few hundred bucks re-selling them. Damn.
Not specific to that edition but reading the stat page of the newspaper plus MLB box scores in the summer while eating breakfast brings back so many good memories.
YES! Looking at box scores and replaying the games in your head while mom was inside getting groceries after church on Sundays is a distinct memory for me.
