Awesome thanks. I only got low 50s on Elec America and 65-70 on EVGo. I can see road trips being tons easier for a Tesla station capable vehicle.
It’s the Toyota with a beefier AWD and Subaru badging. It’s like 225 or something max range, but for me it’s just a town and light highway (<50 mi each way) run around vehicle so I haven’t tested it. Touring trim. I’ve reviewed it here before. It’s ok. Like a toe dipper for fence sitters. Grew on me in the snow.
I wasn’t trying to shit on you but I read my post and it came off that way to me. I’m glad it works for you.
If you regularly take road trips or ones of any great distance, I would not recommend it without a Tesla unless you’re in a Ford or Rivian with the Supercharger adapter. That will change quickly in the next year or two but before then, you’re just signing yourself up to a lot of frustration and excessively long trips.
No, you’re good. I just wanted to make sure that everyone has a full and accurate understanding of what these products are, especially given the misinformation (accidental or otherwise) that is out there about them.
Unless you’re in a rush it would be prudent until the new EVs are all rolling out with the new charging standard connector
I have had an ev6 for over a year. Best car I’ve ever owned. I very rarely publicly charge but on a fast charger I can go from 10% to 80% in like 15 minutes I think is what I did last time I used one. It’s an incredibly practical vehicle if you have any questions happy to answer them.
I like the working theory that Elon actually designed the CyberTruck as his first model for a Moon and Mars vehicle when Starship gets there, rolling it out first on Earth to make some money.
But that's the Earth version. I bet you could shrink the battery for lower gravity and the truck wouldn't need as much power + range.
My lightning is back on a local lot for just over half new MSRP. Was checking local stock and saw one that looked exactly like it and found my vin and it’s a match. Seriously considering getting it back as I was able to sell it initially for break even about a year ago.
Just placed an order for my first EV. Was a little concerned about the lack of infrastructure around my area but I WFH during the week so I don't think that will matter much in the end.
Just did about 140 miles home on FSD, almost all highway and interstate. Old toll booths are a problem but everything else really smooth. It’s truly getting incredible
interestingly enough I was doing just basic cruise control tonight on the highway and it did the fucking phantom braking bc of an exit sign I dont get it
I did a trip to Savannah on FSD while on the highway. I would have it set to 80mph, then it sees a “40 mph minimum speed” sign and mistakes it for a speed limit sign. My cruise control drops max speed to 40mph, car hits the brakes, I have to fix it. Rinse and repeat every few miles. Fucking annoying.
it’s weird how autopilot has more problems than FSD. I’ve had it phantom brake maybe 5 times on in 10,000 miles on autopilot and it’s so frustrating
Merging from express lanes back into regular traffic can be painful. For those familiar with I4 Ultimate in Orlando, the end where everyone merges back has led to multiple phantom braking incidents. I've learned to take back over if I ever know something like that is coming.
was looking at these but there were literally zero to test drive in KC so I ended up with a Q4. I was really interested in a sedan so I was disappointed I didn’t get to try one
I was driving on US-19 with cruise control on and a car was turning left in front of me my car hit the breaks so hard I thought I had just got into an accident FSD has been cool for me last couple times I’ve used it
Weird...there are a pile of them around here. This thing is a rocket and fun to drive. Was considering the i4 M50 as well. The M50 can go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Ridiculously quick but the range isn't as good as the x40 and I wanted AWD for the winter months.
About 4 weeks from confirming config in the shop to pick up. Guide is not that helpful. Car is fun to drive but can see how people get car sick in it. Range anxiety was real. Picked it up in Minneapolis and drove it back to Des Moines the next day. 1 stop for 30 mins and made it back home with 18 miles left.
Pulling in to your driveway with 18 miles left on your first day with the vehicle is an incredible choice. Love the car though
Definitely nerve racking but was confident in the Rivians display in range. Spoiler Estimated range left ended up being 30 miles off. Thought I was going to end up with 50 miles when i made the decision to not stop again.
I’m going to creep on every green r1s I see now Cooler jk I’m not that big of a weirdo, I just pretend to be online
When I was in cruise control I could feel the car accelerating and slowing down back and forth. I’ve never had a ride where I can feel those motions so easily. It was a constant back and forth. I think I’ve been to smittys once the entire time I’ve lived here. Ha if you ever see a green one it is most likely my wife or me. I think I’ve seen a total of 2 R1S’s in the metro and 1 of those was just today in Ankeny. It’s my wife’s car though and she will be driving it to daycare and home 90% of the time.
