a plug in hybrid pretty much is an EV in the city because the average American drives like 40 miles a day
Tomorrow at 1:30 is my new delivery date, i told them I wasn't interested anymore...and shockingly they find a way to fit me in tomorrow. They also decided to give me 5000 free miles of super charging, hopefully this is it lol.
68k in R2 reservations in first 24 hours I am one of them #lookatme. Idk if I can convince my wife to wait two years for an EV though
I bought a new ICE vehicle this week just because I couldn't make up my mind on an EV and wanted to punt for 2-3 years
Really like the R2 but was hoping for a quicker time line. I can get a Mach e extended range premium with 0.0% financing at a decent price if I want to make the EV jump. Decisions
I just can't get used to the front ends of the Rivian's. Not a fan of the look of the vertical headlights with the running lights highlighting them. Jmo
If I was ever to get one, I think the R2 would be more appealing. The R3 reminds me too much of the Peugeot 205 GTI and I can't get it out of my head.
I don't mind the styling of the rest of the vehicle. It's really just the front ends/headlights and unfortunately for me, that's like the one styling thing that they do across all their models
I like the rivian but giving money to a company that needs to find a buyer or is gone in a few years is not something I'm giving money to.
The person with Tesla in their username who has clearly made Tesla part of their personality prefers a Tesla? Shut the front door
Okay, finally after 5 months the wait is over. So far I like it, still getting used to it though….and they gave me 5000 free supercharging miles for the troubles.
Not sure. Something to do with how many miles it gets on a full charge I guess….has to be certified or something….i could be wrong but that’s what I gathered from the service guy….
Gotta be one of a handful of those up in Alaska at most. Like seeing a Ferrari in West Virginia or something like that
They send test cars up here all the time for cold weather testing. Sometimes they alter the body, sometimes they put black and white tape over everything.
The Cybertruck is fantastically ugly. Just brutally terrible in person. It has no place on our streets. Completely impractical.
So incredibly hideous. I saw one in the wild the other day for the first time and couldn't get over how fucking awful it was.
Rivians can charge on all Superchargers today (with the adapter). Even built into the navigation with plug and charge capability. Huge edit: all V3 and V4 superchargers*
Fisker at risk of bankruptcy. Would be interesting if someone (read: Tesla) would buy them for pennies on the dollar and keep producing that brand.
Nissan is most likely it sounds like. Don’t think there’s that much value in the brand but I’m sure they would like owning any patents or technology they’ve developed
I believe they were running a promo for anyone trading in a vehicle got 5,000 free supercharger miles. Just did a road trip from Raleigh, NC to Blue Ridge, GA. 380 miles each way with close to half of that being in the mountains, closest super charger 2 hours away from Blue Ridge. Driving around a good bit through the mountains during the day while I was there and only a 115 volt regular outlet to plug in at the house. Zero issues. Most in this thread already know it but with just some minimal planning you can bring an EV most anywhere these days.
I agree, I’ve only had it a week and I’ve had absolutely no problems. When I first got it, I was a little worried…..but with the infrastructure of the Tesla superchargers and the ability to charge pretty much anywhere , I’ve been super happy.
This deal with no money down and $239 a month for the ioniq 6 seems too good to be true. https://www.thedrive.com/news/hyund...now-about-this-super-cheap-ioniq-6-lease-deal
Right now non-Tesla EVs are in this weird demand pause where the press is up against them and a lot of early adopters have remorse after attempting road trips or realizing cold weather efficiency, etc But all of that will change rapidly as those brands get Supercharger access with all of the incentives and discounts available right now, could be a sneaky good time to buy
