He really invoked Cam Wake? I hope this post gets quoted and clowned in future years but wow at that comparison
Not a Dolphin fan so no dog in the fight but pick is being more well received nationally than locally so that’s probably a good thing given how bad the local media is
So someone who understands the new D I guess better than I do explain where Chop is going to play? I assume he is a depth guy this year and maybe the idea is that Shaq is a bridge guy and Chop is the long term replacement for him?
Well I'd be shocked if either Chubb or Phillips is ready for game 1 so there's a good chance he's starting opposite Shaq during game 1. By the end of season where everyone is healthy he's probably #4 on the depth chart unless he shows he's a stud. Then Shaq leaves after the season and he's #3. It was a luxury pick when they had needs, but at the same time, I don't hate it. They need pass rushing and they have already proven they can scheme around a weak OL.
Robinson was a bad pick. Probably already mentioned here, but 4 sacks all year and 2 came against an FCS opponent. Should have gone corner as there were still lots of good ones on the board.
The best OL on the board had all been drafted. I'd much rather take a guy you have a 1st round grade on at a luxury position than reach on a need.
The idea that rookies fill immediate glaring needs i think is flawed anyway. Ideally rookies add depth while veterans or free agents fill needs.
Questions- what time did you start watching the highlights? How long after 6am were you still watching? The tweet makes it sound like hours of watching highlights, but objectively I can’t imagine he has more than a combined 20 minutes of game film that’s good enough to be highlighted…unless maybe you were dipping into high school tape
Can we stop with sack count being the be all end all for an edge? Verse didn’t do much last year either statistically
In 2024 pressure rate matters almost as much as sacks. If you are driving the OL into the feet of the QB or get around the edge so quick that the QB has to check it down or throw it at someone's feet, that's a big win. Yes. sacks are drive killers, but having a guy who can cause an incompletion or a 2 yd check down all game is huge.
Lance Zerlien is the best in the business. Embarrassing posts from LeonardWashington He’s in a blender knowing his beloved Celtics are about to be dog walked by our Heat
doesn’t have to be a glaring need but he needs to be able to have a path to playing time. I meant in terms of production not in terms of the player type.
War room seemed happy any chance at all he can slide inside to play G for a year? Prob not but that would be nice
Ehhh the tape is not impressive, doesn’t look nearly as polished as some of the other OL that were still on the board Maybe Butch Berry can work some magic
I like the Paul pick. Measurables are elite, and he’s graded well in pass pro despite having shit technique. Definitely gambling upside, but I’m for that
Can't say I know anything about Paul but he at least seems to have some upside. Big fan of the Chop Robinson pick. Athleticism is king for edge guys.
#Georgia Bulldogs why is Van Pran evaluated so low? Thought he was a great player in college. Am I missing something? Injury issues?
No clue. Perplexing tbh. Then again, Atlanta took a QB at 8 so futile making sense of it all. but dont think its dispositive of how his career turns out. Same thing happened with Jamaree Salyer and now he is a starter on a second contract.
I don't mind Jaylen Wright there as a player, but paying a 3rd next year for a mid 4 this year seems steep to me. I wouldn't have done that.
I love trading for picks In a higher round the following year and hate doing what we just did. But at least we have 2 more 3rds next season.
Looks like the Edge we just took is the anti-Chop Robinson. Tons of college stats and production, poor athletic profile.
guy set the ACC record for catches in a season? Nice! ESPN has him ranked as #99 overall and we got him at #184.
