You’re clearly only reading the parts of my posts that fit your narrative. That’s exactly why I’ve said I don’t like the pick… I’m not defending the falcons. I’m talking about how it would be considered a win. if you have to win a Super Bowl for a first to be considered good, then only teams with Tom Brady and the chiefs have drafted well in the first over the last 5 years
Again… I’m not making that argument. The falcons front office is. I’m only saying how the pick would be considered good. I’ve said I thought the falcons needed to take an edge rusher
Atlanta fans watching the Falcons lose in the Wild Card round at home to the Packers while Penix holds a clipboard: “See the pick didn’t hurt them!”
and the falcons front office are a bunch of dumbasses for making that argument and there is no need to even slightly imply it’s a good stance by repeating it as a reasonable strategy
I'm holding out hope that KC can somehow wheel and deal for him or Rakestraw in the 2nd. Would you all take a Ford Pinto and a bootleg 8-track of Disco's Greatest Hits for 33?
just want to clarify Bama pedigree is now dead given that Kalen is now their coach. We have maybe one more draft where Bama players have the juice.
albright is definitely connected to the broncos front office but i just can't take him seriously since his weird twitter outing for infidelity a year ago or whatever
he also keeps claiming to have insight to the bills but has yet to be right about anything. but he definitely has sources within Denver
Bo Nix was 84th in air yards per attempt that's a lot larger of a sample size than whatever that tweet is
I bet if we can get 10-20 more pages on the subject we can finally change each each other's minds about Bo Nix
WRs drafted by Veach in KC: Rice (23) Moore (22) Cornell Powell (21) Hardman (19) and Tremon Smith (18) this team has gone 1 for 5 (maybe) on drafting WRs and will win 73 super bowls in our lifetime
We’re reading them, and they’re stupid. If they go to the playoffs the next 3 years with Cousins and lose, the question would be how much better they may have been if they’d used that top 8 pick on a player who plays. If they just go to the playoffs with Penix, and lose, the question would be how much better they could have been spending all that cash and cap space on players other than Kirk Cousins, since they had to already know they loved Penix. It isn’t like something happened between signing Cousins and the draft that would have taught them something new about Penix they didn’t know when they guaranteed Cousins nine figures to play QB. Now they’re saddled with both a $45mm a year QB and a top 10 draft pick they don’t want to play for, realistically, the next three seasons. Unless Penix gets them to a Super Bowl at some point down the line and/or becomes a regular all pro, it was a bad decision. Maybe the bad decision was signing Cousins more than drafting Penix, but those two things can’t be separated.
I think Tremon was drafted as a corner, technically. And to put things into perspective. Hardman and Moore both scored big time TD's in the SB.
call me old-fashioned but just because a player catches a schemed-up TD from Mahomes in a SB doesn't mean the payer drafted is a "good wr".
I know there was a lot made of the chiefs leading the league in drops but crazy they were one of the least explosive offenses. Mahomes is such an equalizer it’s incredible.
I'm probably as dumb as the falcons front office but did they pick Penix knowing they'd get a trade done with whomever needs a qb (raiders now) either before the draft ends or soon after
Cousins is mid at best and Penix would beat him out in a fair competition before the season started. The players and the city are gonna want Penix to start day 1 and it will absolutely fuck the team if both qbs are still on the roster.
he is a top 10 to 15 QB when healthy. so saying Penix easily beats him out suggests Penix is already a top 15 QB in the NFL.
