The point is you can make all the anti-gun laws you want, people that want to do this will still get their hands on them. I'm not sure how I can simplify that any further because it seems to be going about 10 feet over your fucking head. I'm not going to discuss it any more, there are kids dead and that's all I'm thinking about right now.
I thought I heard that they also killed the school psychologist and another assistant principal was shot in the foot Just got home so trying to catch up. Some sad shit
wtf is going on, the oregon mall shooting and now this...probably bunch of psychos buying into this mayan calendar
Real question though, how exactly can this be prevented? Whoever these shooters were are obviously fucked up, but either nobody noticed there was something wrong or they didn't go seek help for their issues. Is it going to get to the point where employers require annual psychological evaluations or something?
Now if you said people using cars as missiles were the cause of 32,000 deaths a year and some were children, you might be on to something
Some really sad stuff. You guys need to take your personal agendas and witty remarks to another thread. This isn't the time or place for it.
I honestly don't think things like this can be prevented. We can try to do a better job identifying people with mental illness and making treatment very available to them, but at the end of the day if someone wants to get a gun, walk in to a school/mall/whatever and start shooting, it's fairly easy.
It sucks that kids were lost, but let's not pretend that stuff like this hasn't been happening since the beginning of time. You're never going to get all the crazies in time. These people will slip between the cracks and become the next big mass killer. It cant be prevented you just hope to limit it.
This is the part that sucks the worst, in my opinion. There really is no way to prevent a super isolated attack like this from happening. If someone wants to do this they will find a way to make it happen. This falls into the "hope and pray that it doesn't happen" category for me. I don't know how you counter evil if someone really wants it to happen. Super depressing to think about.
I really feel sorry for those of you with young children still in grade school. It can't be a good feeling knowing fucked up shit like this could happen at any time.
That's basically my thought on it. In a country of 315 million people, percentages are going to favor there being enough sick and fucked people for things like this to happen, regardless of what laws, controls or whatever it may be that you enforce. The vast majority of the population will continue to be normal and law-abiding while the psychos will stay psychos.
Shit like this pisses me off. These kids are innocent as can be and some jackass goes in and starts shooting them?
