Zap Branigan sorry for flaking on CCB again . Proof in Tally tapped a keg of Hopslam at 8pm on Friday and as i told ZZ yesterday, "you can't put a keg of hopslam in front of me and expect me to act like a reasonable adult"

 

1st NN of the year. Was so happy to see it in the flippin' cafeteria!

...taking these with for home poker game. I'm usually on lock down with my "days off". I'm excite.

 

Line-up for today. Doubtful we make it through it all but if you shoot for the moon you still end up in the stars.

 

Round 1: Double Saison - I found it to be pretty tasty.

 

That Sam Adams Dark Depths was actually pretty solid.

 

Lol I figured something came up. No worries though I had to pack for my trip to Hawaii and I'm actually in New York right now waiting for my damn buddy to pick me up. It's fucking cold. In other news TPA has a cigar city brewery place in it that brews it right there on the spot. Pretty damn sweet, wish I coulda hung around there longer.

 

Picked up one of these for the Super Bowl, first time I've seen it in Florida

Picked up a bottle today. Anyone ever had it?

 

random fact: outside of the brewery, that is the only place you can get their Tony Jannus Pale Ale

Welp you just killed my excitement. I could have sworn someone said this was good. I guess the pretty pink bottle got me.

 

I ve heard conflicting on the bacon maple. Some tastes are completely different from others.

I think it varies per bottle. Similar to the mint chocolate stout from stone brewing.

 

just my opinion. i would suggest splitting it between yourself and a few people, i couldn't even finish my glass (much less the whole bottle) because it is quite hefty. it's worth trying once, but i just think they killed it with smoke -- if it had a better maple profile i'd probably have enjoyed it more

edit: the bottle is a nice touch if you keep a collection

 

I was going to wait but I just cracked it open. Not a huge fan of the smokey taste as you suggested but the after taste is pretty good. I think I will enjoy it. I appreciate the input.

 

I brought back a bottle from Portland and was really excited but it is just an overpowering smoky taste. Disappointing since most of their other beers are pretty good.

 

Doesn't seem like Rogue gets much respect in here. Do they make anything that's supposed to be really good?

 

worst of all, the "smokyness" is as if someone put out a cheap cigar in it.

 

i really like their hazelnut brown nectar and shakespeare oatmeal stout, that's about it though.

Yup. Never been overly impressed with a rogue. Dead guy and double dead guy is solid but not earth shattering.

 

what styles do you like?

 

I don't know if I have any styles per se at least not any that I am aware of. I am a big fan of Yuengling and Magic Hat #9.

pleasantly surprised by the Sam Adams cinder bock.

Smoky but I found it pretty tasty.

 

Going local and drinking Karbach Hopadillo IPA. Pretty good

 

OH is a great brewery.
