Not really. Connor can't pass and he's going to play a lot. We'll still under achieve with a shit load of talent. We'll have games where we look awesome and games where we suck major ass on offense
The bigger issue with our offense is the inability to run the ball. We need to offensive line to play better much more than worrying about Shaw's arm.
I'm not worried about the defense. We coach very well for our style of play and we recruit very wellfor it too. People thought wed fall off this year losing a bunch of good players and we didn't Well we be as good as the last two years? I don't know but we will be very good
We replaced talent with talent on the front seven last year. This year we're not replacing talent with equal talent at linebacker, which is bad bc they weren't even that good to begin with. Safety, we need chaz elder to step up. And Vic can be good at cb but I'm not sure the Legree is the answer. Sutton can probably fill devins shoes Okay against the run, should be at least just as good against the pass.
We have good running backs but when you can't throw you can't pass and vice versa. We also call some shit plays a decent amount that does neither qbs or rbs any favors
Our linebackers were solid but they weren't that good. I think we can be manageable there. I see no real difference in the corner play. I think our dline as a whole will bee better. The biggest loss I see will be jungle boi Like I said I don't know if they'll be elite but they'll be damn good
Think lb play was very average last year, but it will probably be bad this year. I remember tiny saying we weren't really pushing for Lewis during his recruitment, and neither were a lot of other teams. I don't remember much about holloman so that probably means he's not a very exciting prospect. I mean I know the guys before them weren't ultra talented either, but they were all 4th and 5th year seniors. Our linebackers will only have one years worth of special teams duty between them. At db, we'll probably be about the same as last year, which was understatedly suspect, minus argueably our most reliable corner at the end of the year in aguste and it's leader swearinnger. Our defense will live and die on what clowney and sutton can do on third and long. imo
Strom what's your opinion of Botkin? Seems like no one is good enough for himto play linebacker until its 2 months from signing day, and he has no choice. He could be right, but do you think he knows what he's doing?

I think once Botkin decides on who he wants he is a good recruiter. He relates well with recruits and all his players love him. He is also a pretty good evaluator. I think Walton will be good and botkin found him (even though he was committed to penn State). Everyone gets hung up on the Rolin situation. Botkin wasn't the only one that didn't see him as a LB. he was approved as a TE first. It wasn't botkinjpeg adult we were one any JUCO LBers until 3 months from signing day.....and most of them are EE so you might as well say a month from when they enrolled. Bottom line is I believe he is a good coach, and a good recruiter. This year will show if he is a decent coach or not
