As Aaron Ramsey has shown, if a player wants to run down his contract there isn't much the club can do. If Eriksen already had an arrangement with Madrid it would have been stupid for him to come out and say he is ready for a new challenge this summer like he did. I honestly don't think Zidane rates him that highly.
And even if we don't recoup a penny we realized a lot of value from Eriksen in his time here after his meager transfer fee and 70k a week wages. How's Mesut doing these days?
And although clearly talented, one good performance at home against Burnley isn't enough for me to annoint Dani Ceballos as the next Jack Wilshere. He is pretty slight of build, we will see if he can last through a grueling PL and Europa campaign without coming unglued. That is all.
I agree, which is why I don't think Eriksen is bothered by staying at Spurs another season. He clearly isn't agitating for a move, only giving a public explanation as to why he won't sign a new contract. That is three time FA Cup winner Mesut Ozil to you Spud.
Biased as I am, I really think Eriksen would be dumb to leave Tottenham now. I feel like we are his level, and he won't be playing nearly as many matches in Madrid as he might think. That doesn't mean he won't leave, he is overwhelmingly likely to.
Negative. They asked for 30 a few weeks ago, we offered 24, they countered with 40. Brazzo said we’ll just take him for free next summer. Oh I forgot to mention that Brazzo pissed off both Werner and his family in the interim and now here we are. He really can’t get sacked fast enough.
I feel like Bayern have to fuck things up not to win the bundesliga but they might have just done that this summer and opened the door. I can’t imagine the profit they must pull in since they don’t spend any of it.
Agree 100%. To hear them tell it, we’re rubbing nickels together to make a dollar. Allegedly only 36 million net profit after they paid off the loan for the arena build, 16 years early.
I’m not concerned if we can integrate Joshua Zirkzee into the first team. If not, we’re a Lewa injury from BF’ed at striker.
If he is healthy for one leg of a group stage match before they get knocked out, then yeah. Otherwise, he could still score 20 half assing the league.
My only hope is that they’re trying to troll Madrid into splurging for literal locker room cancer. But more realistically, Barca will actually try and acquire him until the bitter end
Flying a giant contingent to Paris 4 times now leads me to believe Barca's interest is somewhat legit.
Chiellini ACL injury looks like opened the door for Boateng to Juventus. He no-showed the annual Paulaner photo shoot yesterday.
