Porta John’s overflowing and no one cleaning them out. Very few water stations and some were empty. No one knew who was in charge or who to ask questions to etc.
Headed out to Coachella Friday morning. Not camping this year. Rented a house with a big group of friends.
They stopped camping after 2021. Shit was too much of hassle for them after they over sold everything
I physically returned from Coachella on Monday, but my brain is still fuzzy fried mess. A full weekend of doing nothing sounds great. Perhaps finishing off the mood enhancers while enjoying couchella with the rest of my group from last weekend.
Favorite sets? This year was my least favorite lineup ever so I sat out, but had bad FOMO last weekend realizing there's at least a dozen sets I would have loved to see and could have had a good chill weekend while seeing a couple big sets a day I really cared about vs. most years I go where I'm running around like crazy
Michael Bibi. Hermanos Gutierrez. Justice. Everything always and Dom dolla. Anyma visuals were incredible. Stopped by both peso pluma and j balvin. The kaskade b2b Alison wonderland was a nice surprise at the do lab. Was unfortunately disappointed with Barry can’t swim. Lost track of time in the Yuma for about 3 hours. Not sure who I saw. Fitness tracker said I walked 53 miles this weekend Edit: stopped for two Lana songs before going to Steve Angello at the Sahara. Not sure how the entire set was, but that part wasn’t doing it for. The new stage, Quasar, was cool. But man it really made Sahara a long ass walk from just about any other stage.
Never heard of Argy but I’m digging it. Venue looks terrifying and amazing. Waiting for some spun bro to fall over the side of the railing
lol, I thought the same. Awfully precarious. Attending an intimate show like that would be awesome. Zhu’s set in the Japanese mountains was similar.
Man the scheduler really needs to divide days by genre for us. I don't know how to transition from Elderbrook noodling to sipping pinot on a blanket to Norah Jones to molly raving at Pretty Lights to clap-stomping on whiskey to Sturgill/Stapleton in one day.
Did my annual "undercard scan" on spotify and found some that should be fun shows that I'd never heard of: Barry Can't Swim Connor Price BALTHVS Brittany Davis Pawpaw Rod The Criticals Also realized that Sunday they have equal parts "chilling on a blanket" and "sunday rave party" bands in that lineup. Probably gonna go blanket
Kiasmos x Cercle. Haven’t listened through yet, but can’t wait. They had one of my favorite sets to listen to while working on KEXP
ACL Daily Scheduler did good this year. Only one decision to make on Friday and due to previous artist viewings we'll be doing Barry Can't Swim instead of Foster the People or Leon Bridges. Saturday lines up perfectly from 2:05 to close.
Billy Strings is giving refunds for his fest because he didn't make it for the birth of his child. Unprompted. Fest went on. But damn. Nice guy
Trying to come up with an amount of money you’d have to pay me to be in gulf shores that weekend. Yeesh.
