Yeah, Calhoun or Monken probably are better hires at this point. But unless Petersen or anyone else of his stature just wants to chill in a zero-pressure environment, I think going with the triple option is their best play. Stanford can recruit nationally and get decent enough athletes to sustain that offense at a reasonably high level. Seems like it would be successful in that conference. They don't have any fans to whine or be impatient with it either.
Stanford falling off the face of the earth with a highly respected coach has to scare away any candidate worth a shit And the state of the conference can't help
No one is going to go there without strong nil, transfer, and 5th year (I guess kids routinely get denied from grad programs and are forced to leave). Unless they want to hire Trent dilfer
Golesh to USF per Brett McMurphy. VQ mods earlier said there was a plane in Knoxville from Clearwater.
Colorado is a bad job. None of it makes sense to me, but, like you said, it’ll be fun to be a fan again for a while.
over/under 2.5 years of him in Boulder? not trying to be a dick, think it's awesome for Colorado and hope he injects some life there, especially after we're out of the PAC
I am so excited for Deion to Boulder. This is awesome. Good content and I hope he does well. We need that swagger
Got a soft spot for USF since my mom graduated from there and I remember their first game at the Old Sombrero here in Tampa. Charlie Strong was a terrible hire on the cheap, dude literally didn’t visit area high schools. Was shocked Jeff Scott didn’t at least make progress but makes sense based on past Dabo assistants. If they actually get the legit $ commitment and whatnot the program could prosper but if financials are as bad as rumored that’s a long way away.
Turned them from doormat to top team in HBCU. Upgraded their facilities. Set them up for success moving forward. Sucks, but not like he's setting them back to where they started before he got there.
