The royals, cubs, nationals, and braves World Series’ are gonna seem crazy in hindsight down the road considering we’re in the big boy baseball era.
I have no idea what this means but really curious how the Cubs would fit in this group. We were the Vegas preseason favorites to win the World Series the year we did. We had the reigning cy young winner and eventual NL MVP on that team. We won 103 games that year, it wasn’t some surprising Playoff run.
As we all expected McCormack and Maldonado hit back to back homers and have provided the Astros with all of the run support for Verlander tonight.
It’s very funny that there are Yankee fans that have experienced a Royals World Series win, are experiencing puberty, and haven’t experienced a Yankees World Series win.
Silver lining, Trent Grisham making a brutal error behind Hader that costs the team the season is the Padres problem now
I don't believe that's what he means, but I haven't really been able to figure out exactly what it is he does mean.
That trade has gone from way the fuck in the Padres favor to way in our favor rather quickly. The Cubs accepting Davies as a key piece in a trade for Yu notwithstanding
Cubs were big boy baseball. They were the best team in baseball all year. What happened was they pushed chips in moreso than say the Dodgers typically do that year and the next few and didn't keep developing more talent. Then the SS started beating his wife, they traded Cease and Eloy for Quintana, and Baez showed everything from superstar to unplayable. Now they don't even appear to be trying.
If big boy baseball is blowing your load in the regular season and losing to teams you deem lesser when it counts, then I'm not sure that's a good thing??
This is why I was confused by his statement. Most people thought after winning that one it’d be followed by a couple more over the next five years. But the combination of Quintana trade, Russell being a shithead, and Bryant’s back tanked those possibilities.
I need jomboy to do his lip reading thing and tell me what Cora could've possible said right there to get tossed.
So the teams that won a World Series without stealing signs controversy/shortened season asterisk next to them is small boy baseball. Got it.
Among hitters with at least 300 plate appearances, Acuña is 101st in WAR. Holy shit he has fallen wayyyyyyyy off at the plate
His power is gone. Less fly balls and when he does lift the ball it’s not a homer. Have to wonder if the acl injury is still effecting him
