Adam Rittenberg thinks the B1G needs to look into cutting other sports to help win a men's basketball title. This whole exchange is a funny example of a smart person trying to be nice to a dumb person.
either kansas state or us will be looking for a new head coach this week once drew leaves for kentucky i suspect
He or Oats would be great hires for them. I think Oats would be a better one, but in that scenario at least a Bama search would be more interesting than Baylor/KSU's will be.
If Oats left, there’s a real seamless hire about an hour up the road, so I’m not sure how interesting that process would be.
i would think so but mccasland is also an alum and drew guy mills will also receive interest im sure, iirc he was the heir apparent but we will see edit: also jakus
What is the percentage of coaches who would view this kind of obsession as a positive and make them more likely to want to take that job? 20%? That feels high to me, but coaches are pretty narcissistic and whatnot so maybe I'm wrong the other way.
Theres a conversation to be had about how B1g teams tradtional playstyle is not suited well for march, but dude went off the deep end. B1g is still one of the better hoops conferences Our traditional power (indiana) is not pulling its weight though
No, no... Youre doing this wrong. You point to a championship from several decades ago as proof you can still win in the current environment.
This obsession is unhealthy two elite eights and a sweet sixteen in the last 4 years. Also no 0-18 seasons in our history.
Youre doing the 'u mad' now? Yikes. Also - bragging about the only 3 years of post season success youve had this century, that was brought to you by a coach who just left you for USC isnt the flex you think it is. Why do you keep doing this to yourself
Yeah, there's a large difference between "it's weird that B1G teams consistently make Tourney Finals but never win it" and "they should look into cutting sports in order to invest more in MBB in order to get over the hump". Or in unironically going full Ricky Bobby and saying "if you ain't first, you're last" like he does here.
quite frankly the big ten should be ashamed of themselves for not beating 24 uconn, 18 villanova, or the 05 and 09 unc teams embarrassing stuff
Fuckin refs fouling out James Augustine in 9 minutes and letting Sean May's giant dumper get away with murder
