Same. With kids I can't just sit my ass on the couch for 90 minutes on a Sunday morning. I DVR and avoid this thread and Twitter. Lately I've been watching Sunday nights.
I can sometimes buy some time on Sunday mornings by pointing out to my daughter that there is a pink car. So for all that is awful about Racing Point, for that I am grateful.
Seeing Kimi out of the bottom five is nice. That Alfa is terrible. Also really thought Hass would have at least a decent quali for their standards. Grosjean had great practice sessions. Wtf happened to Renault? Gasly has been on fire lately.
yeah he said that when they replaced the parts it was like he was driving a totally different car and didn’t know what happened. On the flip side Mags said he felt the car was great and he underperformed.
Grosjean’s a head case. I feel like he’d have a hard time falling asleep if someone didn’t turn the sheets down for him.
I said this last year but I can’t believe these guys have a ride in F1. Neither bring money and neither are really talented. I would imagine Ferrari is going to ask for one of those seats for Schumacher next year. I really hope someone like Hulk gets the other.
Iirc someone in here said the expense cap is still planned on being implemented next year but the new car has been pushed back a year until 2022. I could be wrong though.
This is correct. We will see the same cars with the same race regs. They will implement some spending caps. But essentially we will see a carbon copy of this season in 2021
Mentioned this a few weeks ago. F1 came up with a algorithm to determine pure speed all time. Based on qualifying efforts. Surprised Charles is that high. Would also say Max being that high also is surprising. pretty cool stuff.
Nothing surprises me when it comes to him. I already view him as a "generational" type talent like Lewis.
Hey guys, I am relatively new to watching F1. What are yall's thoughts on the 2021 rule changes? Better racing? End of Merc dominance?
It's much needed. I like the idea of the main changes. Only time will tell if they end up accomplishing what's intended.
It’s a positive. In writing it seems like a big improvement for the competitive balance for the sport. They really hope the changes will allow cars to be closer together leading to more passing attempts. Jury out on who will have an edge. I wouldn’t bet against the bigger teams still starting out at top.
Merc is by far and away the best run organization. They will still have the best driver and best team principal. You can level the playing field, but I'll believe someone beating Merc when I see it.
Max has the luxury of never being a true threat in the championship to go for the hero drive. Lewis is possibly the greatest in qualifying of all time and brings the car home every race. His greatness should not be taken for granted, certainly not by a racer that has never sniffed a championship.
Cars being equal I think Max beats Lewis more times than not. Just my opinion, and I'm only talking about right now. Of course Lewis is great.

I won't deny Max's talent. My problem with he and Red bull, is every year they finish strong and people figure it's a sign that the next year they will be a threat. But every year they step on their dicks for the first handful of races basically up until Monaco (the first race where you don't need true pace). They spend more time developing their car into he year to finish strong and the cycle repeats itself every year.
Williams sold to a private equity firm in NYC. They’re Keeping the name, factory, and management in place. Also, looks like everyone signed the updated Concorde agreement as well. Big week for F1
Although hes not the coolest dude in the world, would be kind of cool to see Alonso get the triple crown by winning the Indy. Pretty huge accomplishment in motorsports
Meh, I was (am?) a big Alonso fan. I don't think he's good enough on ovals to do it. Plus, Graham Hill was a really good dude, so it's a pretty cool thing for him to hold it by himself.
Was listening to The Race podcast today and it turns out that Haas seat isn’t controlled by Ferrari the Alfa is. They threw a lot of shade Haas’ way and pretty much indicated that Mags and Grosjean are out and Gene might be as well. Mentioned Perez and Hulk for those seats though.
Ferrari doesn’t control the seats but they have huge sway given they supply most of the car including the engine. Ive seen rumors that Gene might be on the fence. I hope he sticks it out till the new specs come out might be a chance for them to be more competitive. Red Bull will need to make a decision on what they want to do with the second seat next to Max. Some talk of Hulk filling in that spot. Moving Albon to the junior team to pair with Gasley. I think Hulk proved he has legit pace. He’s gonna get a seat somewhere. I don’t think it’s gonna be with Haas but who knows.
