What are the vibes in Philly this year? The podcast I posted earlier today was pretty high on the eagles, but a few others doing top tens had them dropping. Seems like it’s make or break for Sirianni.
Mays had them out of his top 10 on offense which I but was interesting but I didn’t really disagree with it.
it's weird because I think everyone knows the spectrum of realistic results ranges from "coach fired at midseason and need to start over at QB" to superbowl. the way they closed out last year was so bad, but people are hoping it was coaching and having two veteran coordinators makes a big difference. I'm probably more worried about the defense than the offense just because of the personnel, but I am worried about Hurts learning another offense and not having the crutch of Kelce calling all his protections. people get hype for the Eagles even if everyone expects them to win five games though, so vibes are still pretty high (as you can see by how many people showed up to watch practice).
the eagles finished 10th in offensive DVOA with the Sirianni/Brian Johnson dumpster fire offense last yr, an argument that they will somehow be worse is basically just taking the worst case scenario obviously anything could happen, but with Hurts as a starter, in terms of total offensive DVOA the floor has been really high his 3 yrs (13th the lowest in '21) and the offensive talent around him continues to get better season is definitely going to come down to whether the defense can force a punt, which was a far, far bigger reason for the collapse last yr than the offensive issues
The way OG contracts exploded this past offseason I think Howie made a mistake letting Seumalo walk based on the contract he got from the Steelers, even if it meant sitting Jurgens another year
I just want to know if the play calls on third down have some attempt to build in answers for the blitz, which is all teams would throw at them by the end of last season. The answer last year was emphatically no, to a degree that other coaches were calling it malpractice
Defense in the NFC East is going to be a shitshow all around next year. Zimmer is going to be a disaster in Dallas and surely their secondary won’t have 5 pick sixes in a row or whatever it was. New York is obviously not a serious football team and I don’t even know who is left on Washington’s D.
the worthy hype seems to be justified he’s been absolutely cooking kc’s dbs which is probably why they tried to kill him the other day
I think he’ll be fine. Will probably be a gadget guy this year. Andy typically doesn’t bring rookie WRs along quickly unless absolutely necessary like Rice last year Every year we have some rando practice squad dude who gets a lot of hype, it’s because Andy never reveals his actual plans in camp since he’s a psycho and so he runs a bunch of shit to Justyn Ross instead and the reporters are all like oh wow this guy is doing great
Will be interesting to see if he will utilize Saquon in check down situations? (Something he's never done with backs because he just runs)
Nothing wrong with him being 1. he turned 30 in March and is likely nearing the end of his prime. Wouldn’t be shocked to see a slight drop in production moving forward
this is why Jason is the superior brother Travis has been around the Chiefs organization for too long
I pray that one day you all experience what it’s like to see your franchise be so successful that people get mad when some shitty country artist wears a custom jersey with the most common football number there is
7 is an extraordinarily popular number and the fact is dude is not wearing a butker jersey. You are welcome to whatever manufactured outrage you like. Dude wore a Bo Jackson royals jersey last night and no one got mad
Cannot wait to find out what jersey Morgan Wallen wears in his next tour stop here in the national football league thread
Wouldn’t wearing a Bo Jackson Royals #16 jersey prove he’s aware of who he’s supporting Still love Travis and don’t think he’s a bad person, just disappointing
I’m very scared to admit that that country artist recently wore the jersey of the MLB’s best player…..
